  • A thread for me to poop on!

    My roommate gave me this thing called Nature Made Fiber Clear. Its 3 grams of Dietary Fiber and under Sugars it reads 0 grams.

    The ingrediants says Digestion Resistant Maltodextrin with a *. And the star says "adds a trivial amount of sugar"

    My question to you is, should I take a fiber suppliment? How much should I take? It says to take 3 Servings a Day which one serving = 1 rounded teaspoon.

    Chapter 8 in DANDR(2002), page 75-76
    Dr. Atkins states that during induction your primary source of fiber will be vegetables.

    Check out this chapter. The good Dr. reccommends psyllium husks daily, this will keep you regular.

      Okay Ill look into it. So no go on suppliments?

        Dr. Atkins recommended 1 tablespoon of psyllium hulls daily. Be sure and select the sugarfree ones. Be sure and drink plenty of water with this added fiber.

        Another choice. You can also take 1 tablespoon of wheat bran or flaxseed meal daily. Although it's derived from grain, course bran is pure fiber. You can read more about this on page 76, DANDR(2002).
