And I feel GREAT!!! WHOOO!!! I'm starting day 3. I felt like real crap after day 1. Big headache, no energy. Yesterday, not too bad at all..today, GREAT! I just had a baby October 25th. I was around 174-176 by the time I had her. I am 5'3" and small framed. I weighed around 130 before I had her, and wasn't happy with my weight even then. Around 115 is good for me
So, I have lost weight on my own <down to 140lbs now> but I know if I didn't get rid of my carbs, I would be in trouble. When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I had gestational diabetes. I was tested again with this last one, and I was 'borderline'. I did the three hour glucose test, and on hour 3 my numbers went from 164 to 70! In ONE hour, it plummeted THAT MUCH. So, no wonder I felt like crap all the time! It took me until TODAY to realize, I have been going on a carb roller coaster this whole time! I ate carbs til they came out my ears! Example breakfast: 3 cinnamon waffles <frozen kind> with tons of syrup and a diet coke. PFFT! No wonder I crashed later. I was an irritable wreck with no energy because I was crashing all day long. My husband is joining this diet with me. He is 5'11" and weighed around 265-270lbs at the beginning of my pregnancy. We bought a scale, and on Tuesday, he weighed 294lbs! He is doing extremely well following the diet so far. He is so disgusted with his weight <we never had a scale in the house before> that he is willing to do what it takes..even if that means he can't snack on those homeade cookies I used to make ALL the time. He is also doing SO WELL with his portion sizes that I am giving him. He used to want seconds and thirds, now I don't make enough for seconds or thirds <and he isn't even asking>. I just wanted to post...cuz I feel so damn good!
I'm really glad this forum is here, It really inspires me to read all of your stories.
Edit: Just so it doesn't look like I lost 35lbs in 2 months..my baby weighed 8lbs 13oz when she was born. I actually weighed 153lbs the next day. I guess all that baby, water, etc. was a good 20lbs immediately gone
