  • Induction Question

Is sugar free jello acceptable as long as it's made with one of the approved sweetners? And, if anyone has any other suggestions for an alternative to sweets while on induction i would appreciate it. Thanks

    Re: Induction Question

I was just thinking this morning that someone should start a thread on Sugar Free Jello. The answer is yes and no. No because Jello is made with aspertain, which isn't recommended. Jolly Rancher has one made from Splenda, but I have never found it.
So yes, you could eat Jolly Rancher or make your own with gelatin, splenda and some flavorings. (I made a latte one once that wasn't bad with leftover coffee)
But on Induction, we recommend that you use this time to get control of your sweet tooth, and stick to the 3 packages of Splenda a day. Once your done with your 2 weeks, then try it.

      desserthorn,

Thanks for the insight, its good to know what you can and cannot have. I have the book but there are always grey areas, or maybe not. I must accept that the "master list" is set in stone and not question the "grey" area anymore. 14 days isnt that bad.... well let's see i havent started yet. Thanks again

Just remember as Dr Atkins said desserts and sweets are fine as occaional treats but shouldn't be everyday events.

And remember also that the '3 sweetener servings a day' is not just for induction!!

I cannot find anywhere in DANDR that there is an allowed increase in later phases, so the 3 servings is a general rule, not just an induction one!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
