  • 8 hours without eating...

I know Dr Atkins recomends never to go longer then 6 hours without eating. Today I couldn't eat for almost 8 hours. Is there anything special I should do?

    Hi Matt,

Are you somewhere that you can eat a snack?

I bring those individually wrapped string cheese with me when I know I have a busy day.

you don't do anything to make up for it. you can do things to avoid it in the future like having your Atkins emergency kit stocked and ready to go with you where ever you are.

      Happy low carbing.

Remember, only eat until your hunger is appeased. Once you are finished induction and get to the OWl nut rung it is a good idea to keep a few nuts in your bag or pocklet or car. I have a little lunchbox (about 2" square) with a few cashews, macadamias and walnuts - it is a real hunger quencher and I use it about once a week.

Click your heel's together and say, "There's no place like home, there's no place like home, there's no place like home".....

No magic bullets, sorry.... All we can do is all we can do. If you miss one meal, it's not gonna kill ya. Especially if it's only by two hours. Just try as hard as you can to eat something every 6 waking hours. It's not like it's going to kill you to miss 2 hours.

Just keep the faith, do your best, keep to the menu for induction, and don't fret what you can't control.
