In everything I've read I haven't heard of this happening, but it seems as though both times I've tried Atkins, around the second or third day of induction I start having horrific nightmares at night. The kind the leave you shaking and sweating when you wake up. Everything that I've read totally contradicts this and says that you should sleep better. Has anyone else experienced this or know if it is normal?

Re: Nightmares during Induction?
Yes, it is very very common. It happened to me for at least 3 or 4 months after starting. Not every night for that time, but it went off and on for quite a while. Its the same when giving up any addiction.
I rememeber having the exact same experiences when I gave up smoking.
Sometimes they are scaringly realistic arent they?

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I'm wondering if it some sort of carbohydrate withdrawl symptom. I hope it's that and nothing else.Originally posted by RichtYes, it is very very common. I think I may have mis read your original thread. I thought you were talking about having dreams of eating things that you shouldnt have.Originally posted by songstoriesI'm wondering if it some sort of carbohydrate withdrawl symptom. I hope it's that and nothing else.
But I wouldnt be at all surprised if these dreams are relating to a new lifestyle. i am sure you will back to normal soon.
I hope so anyway
