    I'm shocked!! I mean I KNOW how wonderful Atkins is but WOW !!! I started on Tuesday at 207 and I'm now at 201!! I just can't believe it!! *jumps up and down*

    Tha bad part is...I KNOW most of that is probably water weight and I only have 3 weeks to lose 20 pounds!!! *eeeeek!*

    Is this possible?? I don't exercise at all right now. Do you think if I start walking briskly for 30min to an hour everyday starting tomorrow that I'll make my first 'mini-goal' ?????

    By the way....THANKS to ALL who mentioned fitday.com in their threads!!! I signed up and WOW!! I love the site !!! THANKS AGAIN!!!

    The book says exercise is a must. I'm sure you are going to want to be as toned as possible when you lose all the weight anyway and exercise makes you feel so much better.

    Congrats on saying good bye to those 6 pounds!

      If you're not exercising then you're not doing atkins.

      Woo hoo for you on the weight loss....that's awesome now go check out some of the exercise challenges.

        I've read where 5-10% of your weight loss is the expectation during induction.

        Your weight loss will halt significantly if you aren't stimulating your metabolism through exercise.

        Keep up the great work.

          You're right. The majority of it is water weight. Scary how all the carbs make us retain that, isn't it?!

          Starting to exercise is likely going to put a couple of pounds on you for the first week, maybe two. -This looks like a slow down, or even the wrong direction, if you don't know to expect it. Your body is going to retain some water for awhile to protect itself from whatever is making it do this horrible new exercise thing. LOL This is to be expected and is totally normal, so if you do start exercising now like a good Atkineer should, you know.

          That said, you will be accelerating your metabolism/fat loss. The goal isn't weight loss, it's FAT loss. Sometimes the two are mutually exclusive.

          Anything you do now to keep the fat loss going is a step in the right direction. Get to goin'!

          General rule of thumb for success: If it requires a degree in chemical engineering to pronounce it, you probably shouldn't eat it.

            yep what Brook just said. exercise is mandatory read chapter 15 and 22 and you will see Dr Atkins says if you aren't exerciing you aren't doing his plan

            30 min walking is a good start but do it every day. as you get in better shape you will need to increase your pace and time spent working out. After abiout 2 weeks if you were a couch potato you should be able to add other exercise like resistance training.

            Sinbce we have know idea how much you now weigh it is impossible to know if 20 pounds will be eve4n a realistic goal for you. but you will be a smaller healthier you in 3 weeksHappy low carbing,
