OK. Will somebody please give me the skinny (or fat) on these badboys?

I've heard they can be eaten liberally during induction, and I've heard the opposite. I've also seen where there are different flavors of pork rinds on the market these days.

This question is inquiring about the plain ol, regular pork rinds.

Pork rinds are a great induction snack, Brook even makes a delicious french toast with them. BUt they do a have a lot of salt, so tread carefully if you retain water.

That's my question. How much of the pork rinds can we eat during Induction?

Also count the fat in them when you add up your daily totals if you use fitday.

          Limit them to a handful.

          Does that help at all?

Yep, what they said...full of salt...limit them to a handfull or so and keep the water jug in your other hand.
I can't eat many of them at a time because although the first few taste good, the last few taste heinous! I do like to use them to scoop up tuna salad though...sounds gross, tastes great.
The ingredients on the flavoured ones are not on the Acceptable Foods list. Also, recently (after almost 2 years of Atkins) I gave the flavoured ones a try and they were disgusting...a waste of money as far as I'm concerned...and they tasted really chemically to me.

When the DUKE university study was conducted the docs ask Dr Atkins how much and he told them to limit it to a cup aday according to our member who was in that study.

There is nothing we should be pigging out on as the saying goes. We eat only enough food to satisfy our hunger and stop we do not eat just to eat cause a movie is on or we are at a social event and it is traditional. That is the hardest lesson for new Atkineers to learn. Once you do you will be a big Atkins loser and keep it off for life,

              Happy low carbing.

With pork rinds, calories can matter, too. A cup is really only about a handful. Any more than that and it can get really high calorically. I wouldn't eat more than that, either. I can only stand them as breading for fried meats.

                  Love the specificity. Thanks.

The pork rind french toast does indeed sound gross, but it is excellent! It's one of my fave breakfast meals. Give it a try!

I also use pork rinds as a breading and just for snacks. They are also good added to a taco salad for a crunch.

Yikes! I opened a bag and have about a handful left in the bag. I should start reading new posts before I get a snack attack.

It happens to all of us! No worries, you'll know next time. I went overboard with them as well until my husband pointed out the calories in addition to the lack of carbs. I was like and that was pretty much it! Just remember, calories count (even if you don't have to go overboard counting them).

The good thing about Pork Rinds IMO is that I very rarely feel like eating much more than half a bag, because they are so salty. But I do have the occational "wow....what happened to that whole pag of pork rinds...." accident! LOL.

I LOVE the pork rind french toast. I have them a couple of times a week. To stay away from sugar alcohols I have to use flavorings from DaVinci.
I miss Atkins sugar free pancake syrup.

I put them in snack size baggies when I open the bag. Then I don't mindlessly munch on them.

I also eat them with cream cheese (I know, I know-just a little)

I also sprinkle cinnamon and splenda on them and microwave for a minute.
