  • what the !!!!!!

    ok guys help me out !!!!!!!! please!!!!!! now i have been doing this diet for a week. not one ounce lost!!!! not one!!! and yes i am doing everything buy the book, drinking my water,taking my vit, and praying xtra hard. i know what you going to type GET RID OF THE SCALE!!!! ALREADY DONE THAT now what is going on with me ?????? it has always been hard for me to lose weight but dooog yall i thought this diet would help meeeeeeeeee.the doc put me on gluophage will this help me. 1000 morning 1000 night. he said i was insulin resistant. i know ladyS that were put on this strictly for weight loss purpose only and lost tons of weight i know this because i work with them. when i got on the scale and saw that i had lost nothing i like to ran to my car, cranked it up and drove to krispy creame just in time for the hot, sweet, lite,goowee soft melt in your mouth donut GOD HELP ME .....BUT I CAME IN THE COMPUTER ROOM TO VENT TO ANYONE OUT THERE WHO CAN FEEL MEEEEEEEEEEE. thank for listening...

    Well tell us this,

    What is your daily menu?

    Are you on any medication ?

    What exercise are you doing ?

    Krispy Kremes are evil! There are some stores in Sydney, but none in Melbourne where I live. THanks God.

      my menu

      morning 2 eggs 2 slices of bacon
      lunch salmom w dab mayo dab mustard i slice tomato piece of cheese
      dinner 2 hambuger patties green beans cucumbers
      and if i wont something sweet 2tblesp of creem cheese a little splenda and a dab of vanallia (noSug). Ton of water through out the day.

      yes i a on meds gluophage, progestrin only pill (Women issue) blood pressure
      pill. (POP)

        Yes, yes, throw away the scale and all that. Remember, that is the point of not getting on the scale until the 14 days are over. Bad girl! Sweetie, you just have to be patient! Your body is trying to get used to the fact that you have changed gears on it and that takes a bit for it to say, ok, so we are gonna be eating this way now, huh? And make the necessary changes to show your loss. I am sure you have heard this before but it bears repeating because some people in their frustration still do not hear it: Everybody is different. What may stall you, won't stall somebody else. What one person loses during induction, you may not. Your body may stubbornly be resisting for a little bit but it will come in time. There are plenty of Atkins goalees in here who didn't lose one ounce during induction and some didn't their first 2 months but stayed on and still achieved goal--very slowly but they stuck with it. You can do it! I have faith in you to keep going anyway. Please don't feel discouraged, just give it time and stop checking the scale! Step back from the scale, don't make me get my belt!

          I read an interview with Dr Atkins and he said often times the meds will interfere with weight loss.

          You may have to stick it out and see.

          Watch those hamburger patties - make sure they don't have too much filler in it!

            Hi beediddy
            One of our former admins lost absolutely NOTHING on induction but then moved on to OWL and followed the instructions and before too long she was losing weight and in time reached goal!!

            Give the plan a chance and just follow the induction rules then move to OWL and see how it goes.

            You will probably find you get cravings after eating those krispy kremes so have a variety of legaL highfat snacks available for when the cravings strike you.

            Have your measurements changed at all? Often our body shape will shrink without it showing on the scales. If you didnt take them before you started make sure you do so now - people often report a scales stall but still losing dress sizes!!

              you may have to lose the tomato for induction it stalls me I don't eat them, and I do so love them onions too. You are supposed to have 3cups of lettuce or 2cups of lettuce and one cup veggies it may help you to measure theese things in the begging It sound like you are getting enough protein not enough lettuce and too many veggies

                Also, go to the Review My Menu forum, read the sticky in there on how to post a menu and let's see in detail what you are eating, and what times of the day you are eating is also helpful.

                Did you do your measurements when you started? It's good to re-do them each month to see how you're progressing. Many times the scale may not reflect much but your body can be changing.
                You can keep the scale, but set up a day to weigh yourself, every two weeks is good.

                If you worry about the day to day stuff you'll drive yourself crazy....give it a month or so to see how you do....relax...Follow the Rules of Induction, eat correctly from the Acceptable Foods list, and trust Dr. Atkins!

                    your doc has already diagnoised you as insulin resistant. Did the doc explain that cause your cells are not sensitive to insulin your body produces mega insulin for just a littel blood sugar rise. This is not a good thing for Atkins WOE. Did you read your DANDR all of it. Dr Atkins talks abut those folk and how Atkins induction will help heal your metabolism as you continue and soon as your metabolism is healed up you should be a big loser. It can take several weeks to adjust your insulin production back to normal. the glucophage should help as it will meake youe cells more recetive to the insulin to move the sugar outof the blood stream. Atkins eating will also help cause it will stablize your blood sugar levels so your trigger to produce insulin should not be turned on as often either.

                    You didn't mention it but how much exercise areyou doing as since you read your book you know exercise is a mandatory part of Atkins.
