    The "Eat First, Ask Questions Later" mentality will only get you in trouble on any weight management plan, including Atkins. Since you are the one in control of everything you choose to eat or drink, it's a good idea to know exactly what you can eat or drink before you actually eat or drink it. It does you no good if you eat that bowl of creammed corn, then come back here to ask if that creammed corn messed you up.

    When I was a newbie I had 3 copies of the Rules of Induction and the Acceptable Foods List: one set was on my refrigerator, one set was in my purse, one set was in my desk at the office. That way, I could quickly check to see if any food was okay or not. It saved alot of grief and worry in the short run, and it helped me to remember the list in the long run.

    Remember, you are responsible for how you do the diet. Don't blow it by taking a lax approach.

    There's more to Atkins than limiting your daily carbs to a certain number. Dr. Atkins cobbled together a foods list and rules for very specific weight loss reasons.

    I found what really works for me is I have been trying to plug the days menu into fitday prior to eating it. I put it in either the morning of or the night before. This way I know what I can eat so it makes it easier to stick to the plan, I know what my ratio of fat/protien and carbs are and when you put it into fitday it looks like SO MUCH FOOD!! (Which helps me think I couldn't eat another bite!!)
