I am just starting...again. I nearly completed induction in the fall, but then fell into some serious medical issues (gall bladder removed, thyroid problems, and then a series of the cold/flu. After being in and out of the hospital, I am finally back on track to good health and exercising again. I am 210 pounds and only 5'10 tall - so, one can see the work I have ahead. My main concern is dinner with my family. My husband is 6'4 and very thin. He actually needs to eat carbs to maintain a healthy minimal weight. I also have a 21 month old daughter. I feel challenged at dinner time to make something that I can eat as well as the rest of the family. Any ideas? I have read the book and understand the lifestyle, but do not want to impose it onto my husband. Are there others who live under similar circumstances?

Re: Meals for the whole family
What I would do if I were you, especially in the beginning is to KISS(keep it simple, sweetie!!)
Make a meat dish, a big salad, and a starch. You can eat the meat and salad, and your husband and daughter can have those AND the starch. You could also do a second veggie such as corn or carrots etc for them as well.
There are some good recipes here http://users3.ev1.net/~fontlady/index.html that are clearly marked as Induction safe...you'll find some good casserolles there. All you'll need to add to them would be salad and some bread or other starch to round it out for your family.
I've served some of the casserolles to friends and there's no way they'd know they were eating something Atkins friendly...its just good food to them.
You can do up a nice stirfry and make rice for him and your daughter.
You can make a creamy chicken alfredo and have noodles for them, and thinly sliced strips of zucchini sauteed in butter as your 'noodles' (bf and I both love that!)
Things need not be really that hugely different. I hope this helps you!

Re: Meals for the whole family
I agree.. It may seem like a challenge at first, but really it's pretty simple once you get into it. As mentioned before, just add a starch if they want it.
I love making taco salads. At first, my family would put them on taco shells, but now they eat them as a salad too. Sometimes I put them on LC tortillas for a change. The other day I made pork chops and cabbage. DH doesn't like cabbage, so I made corn too. My daughters like cabbage so I gave them a little of each. It's very doable.
