  • Do I have to wait 6 weeks?

    Hello all..

Some of you may remember me, maybe not. I haven't been on here in a long time.. almost a year. I just had a baby boy two weeks ago! Now it is time to get back in shape and I know that this way of eating is really the only way to do it.. curious though... does anyone know if I have to wait 6 weeks to do so or can I start at any time??? I had a C-Section and I am not nursing... if anyone knows please let me know. Anxious to get started!

    Thanks

hi and congrats on your baby! I remember you.

You really should talk to your OB/GYN about this. When they did that c-Section they cut through your lower ab muscles, so it's best to speak with your doc about when you can safely begin an exercise program. As for your Atkins, if you aren't breastfeeding, you can start Induction. If you are breastfeeding, the Maintenance Atkins is the recommended way to go.

I had a C-section almost two years ago and began exercising a month later. I would walk on the treadmill and a slower speed just to get my body moving. My plan was not to do an all out exercise program, but enough to get me moving.

I would suggest you ask your doctor to make sure .... everyone is different.

          Congrats on the baby!

walking is a great way to get started. it will help you not be in so much pain from the C. Dont over do it, walk very slow. You will see that you build alittle more each day. I had a C so i know how you feel

congrats and ditto what the others said. another thing, remember that hormones are still having a party in your body so you may not have a great amount of weight loss in the beginning- but don't get frustrated, stick with it and your body will sort itself out.

welcome conmgrats on your new baby. you doc should have you already up and walking but healing those muscles is going to take time. Heck after my hysterectomy I was forbidden to life anything over 5 pounds for weeks. Heal the ab wall first so your innards don't leak out and need more surgery to fix

you got a lifetinme to get healthier and lose the baby fat.

Congratulations! Just a note, that breastfeeding can burn up to 500 calories a day....(that takes the place of a 5 mile walk : )
