  • Can we have FETA cheese during Induction

I checked my book and I know it's not on the list but everything is not included because it says "including" and then it lists out what is printed. Feta cheese isnt considered a "fresh" cheese is it because I know that I can't have those during induction?

Yup, feta cheese is okay. I know around here you can get 'shredded' (I don't think that's the term, but it's broken up for salads I guess) in a bag. Watch the ingredients on that stuff, or any packaged shredded cheese, because often starches are added to keep the cheese from sticking together.

Re: Can we have FETA cheese during Induction

Heidi3 and I went feta tasting one day and I was amazed at the different tastes. Some are salty, some creamier and some just tasted better. I feel in love with the Danish and I think she went for the traditional greek, The point of this is, if you don't like the one you bought, don't give up on it, try another one.

                Feta Cheese,,,,

OK you guys guess you love Feta Cheese,,, being raised eating Feta cheese (my family still buys it in barrels of 20 Lbs, just enough for a week supply LOL),, Here is something you might like having, and it’s 100% Atkins induction friendly (I think.. hope)

Add TONS of olive oil to Feta cheese (Crumbled or use a fork for block of cheese),,, add copped tomatoes and then let it set outside for 30 minutes (Feta cheese absorbs oil like a sponge), now add a bit of fresh menthol leafs and enjoy..

Fry your eggs as you usually like (In lots of butter) ,, and just before it’s done though some cubes of Feta cheese and let it partially melt (don’t let it melt all together as it will take yucky of you do)…. Enjoy

                    Desertthorn...

The funny thing is, that Feta cheese from Denmark, is no longer allowed to be called Feta. I think from 2007 we have to call it either Feta product or something different.....But I agree with you, Danish Feta is good....not as salty as other Feta cheeses.

                    Just a little trivia...

I eat feta in my scrambled eggs and in my salad....

I think thats happening all over. Only feta from greece will beable to be called feta. Go figure.

Denish Feta (A.K.A Double Cream Feta) are wonderful as a spread, Greek feta are more harder and are easy to crumble,,, Egyptian Feta are really hard and you can cut it thin without crumbling it... that is really "Style" of feta, we have here a "Canadian" Feta and it's mostly greek style..

The Danish Feta that we buy here in Denmark, is usually very hard.... I wouldn't be able to use it as a spread.....
