  • Wow, I lost inches....still NO pounds

I can't believe this. This is day 12 on induction for me, and I still haven't lost ONE pound! Guess what though? I fit into my size 6 <they run large, so more like an 8 btw> pants, that I could hardly pull over my hips or zip up 3 weeks ago. I have been wearing one pair of size 12 and one pair of size 11. I only have two pairs of pants that actually fit me..and 20 pairs of pants that don't. I just had a baby in October for those that don't know. Litterally for the past 2 months, these are the only two pairs of pants I could wear. I also wear a pair of sweat pants around the house, and they were tight on my hips and butt. Now, they have about 1 inch of room all over the hips and butt. So, they no longer stick to me, they are loose. I am excited about this, but bewildered at the same time. It is obvious I am losing fat, there is NO doubt about that. But, the significant amount of inches that I have lost, makes me wonder why it doesn't show on the scale. It's like I am slowly withering away, and remaining 140lbs LOL!!!!!! I wanted to wait until day 14 to weigh in, but when I was able to put those pants on, I HAD to check the scale. Can someone please enlighten me on why my inches don't seem to weigh anything?
PS: I know that weight loss is measured by weight or inches, but why don't MY inches weigh anything? This is a significant amount of inches to me...they outta way SOMETHING ya know?

congrats on the great job you are doing shrinking .

On Atkins we morph our body mass. we shed fat mass ad muscle mass and the fluid mass is in a constnat state of flux.

you can burn off 2 pounds of fat add a pound each of water and muscle and have the scales say no change!

Your body will release the fluids it has retained because of complicated biochem reaction rules when you exceed your bodies tolerance for them and whooshie will have visited you causae the pounds will be gone.

Way to go on losing those inches! I get to measure myself tomorrow and I hope I lost some of those, too.

Just remember, no one will know how many pounds you weigh unless you wear a badge that says "Hi. Today I weigh _____ pounds." But they will notice that you look skinnier and you will notice that you fit into smaller clothing sizes.

Re-read the part in DANDR where Dr. Atkins says the loss of inches represents the emptying of fat from your cells.
