Hi Erin - welcome back on board
Congratulations on the cheatfree induction and your loss so far
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: # days down 11 to go...
I started on Tuesday and I think it would be cool if we all could be lowcarbing buddies, that would so rock. I am not going to weigh myself until next week. I think two weeks is such a long time to wait to weigh yourself since I am a scale addict myself. Heh heh. So, my next weigh in is next Tuesday! (I like starting things on Tuesdays. I know, I am so weird) Good luck to each of you and don't get discouraged!!

(P.S- I like the last smily, it reminds me of well, me!!! ^_^)

Re: # days down 11 to go...
Elizellen...Thank You! You look fabulous BTW!
FLLOWCARBER & Esteliana Hi! You know I am a slave to the scale as well...Admitedly so. However, I find it helps me stay focused.
I will tell you a bit more about myself too. I currently weigh 187, I am 5'7" so I would like to have a final goal of 155. I don't have a great deal of weight to lose, but I have tried EVERYTHING...and Atkins is truley the only thing that works for me. I live in Edmonton Alberta, My Hubby and I are highschool sweethearts, being married for 8 years, but celebrating 15 years together on Jan. 24! Our Children are Chariti 12, Tyson 6 and Derek 4. I go to the Gym 6 days a week, Sundays being my day of rest! I work at a mental hospital as a Psychiatric Aide (which can be quite stressful) and I love watching and playing soccer (both indoor and outdoor) for fun...mostly because I suck at it LOL

Re: # days down 11 to go...
I agree that the scale does help you stay focused, but sometimes I get discouraged when I don't see any pounds go down. It's not all about the pounds, it's also about the inches that we need to lose, too. Which, I feel, is probably more important than weighing myself! <33
As for me, I am 19 years old and I am attending college and I work at Safeway as a checker. (I have to run back and forth between my box and bagging groceries becuse the courtesy clerks that we have are so lazy, they don't even do their job, or they just choose to ignore me, either one. Anyway, I have a boyfriend, whom I miss so much right now, well, that's what happens when he's completely obsessed with acting and wanting to be in a musical and all. So, I am stuck at home with nothing to do but play DDR. I wish I could play it every day, but considering that people sleep in the morning, I can only play around 4-5 times a week depending on my schedule at work. I like playing when I am by myself because that way I don't mess up and I sweat a lot. Yummy, sweat.
Anyway, gotta get ready for work and eat mah chicken!! Stay in touch!

Re: # days down 11 to go...
Its a good choice, a positive choice, to stay away from the scale and to work on a healthier outlook where you don't obsess about a number on the scale. You claim you are scale addicts but addiction is a choice. Using a mechanical device to set your daily esteem is not in my opinion, the best way to monitor personal progress.
You can go down sizes on Atkins and not have it move
the scale. Truly you can.

Re: # days down 11 to go...
Esteliana,
Well we have another thing in common...My husband has worked for Safeway up here for 12 years! LOL I thought it was the long cold winters that made the courtesy clerks here lazy...but I guess it may just be a courtesy clerk thing... LOL

Re: # days down 11 to go...
It's just a courtesy clerk thing, they're just apathetic, ha ha. I hate working in the mornings because I get all the courtesy clerks who don't do anything, they just walk around and stay outside instead of helping us when we're stressing out with a million customers. I say that we have no courtesy clerks in the morning because of that. We actually have to wait till 3 pm until all the highschool courtesy clerks come. There are only two competent courtesy clerks in the morning, one of them is manic depressant, and the other one actually does the job instead of complaining all the time. <3
So, how are you doing so far with this way of life? I'm doing great! My tummy is way smaller than it was when I first began. I don't like the feeling of being bloated all the time. Ha ha. Oh, how did your husband like working at safeway, XD? Ha ha. (I wish I lived in Canada, that would be cool...lol)
