  • Question

I've been sick for three weeks with the flu and although I'm over the really bad stuff I still feel bad and have this awful cough. Thought it was better, but its not. I'm on my third day of induction, can you please tell me if I can use like a sugar free cough syrup or sugar free cough drops. I'm desperate for something because I'm coughing so much.

    Thanks.

    Re: Question

    Hi and welcome.

Here's my advice to you. You are on Day 3 of Induction and you have the flu (the real flu, not the carb withdrawal "induction flu"). It would be best for your body to concentrate on recovering from your infection. Then begin Atkins.

The ultimate goal of the Atkins Diet is improved health. But any weight loss diet is a physical stress on your body. So get over your infection then jump onto Atkins.

        Re: Question

I agree-Also three weeks sounds like an awful long time to be sick...maybe a visit to your doctor is needed....Best of luck and get well soon

          Re: Question

There are medications available for diabetics, and they should be fine for you to take.

I urge you to see your doctor though if you're still sick after three weeks and have a bad cough.
