  • My Belly Hurts!

Been on induction now 6 days...have lost 7 lbs, but dang my belly sure seems to hurt and cramp alot. I admit I am a major sugar junkie who has went cold turkey. Is this what that is doing it or is there more of something or less of something I need to be eating?

Anyone else had this happen? What did you do for it?

    Thanks for any help.

    Re: My Belly Hurts!

What you're experiencing is induction flu!!! Of course, I don't know what you eat each day and how much water you drink, but it sure seems like some of the symptoms for induction flu that you're experiencing! If you could, you can post your menu in the reveiw my menu forum and I can go check to see what you're doing wrong, or right! Either way!! Hope that helps just a bit? Mayhaps? (Oh, and induction flu lasts probably a day or two, then it goes away, don't get discouraged!!)

it sounds like it may be your bodys way of telling you you are having the induction flu, which is a very good thing!

Good luck with the pains, they shouldnt last too long

You're not doing anything wrong, so that's good! You're just going through some hefty withdrawel symptoms after all that sugar and carbs in your system. It's perfectly normal and it will be gone in no time!! That's induction flu for you and it's a good thing, it means this way of life is working! Woo hoo!!!

Well if this belly ache is a good thing I would hate to see a bad one...*grin* any idea how long it would last?Or anything to lessen it....If I eat greasy thing like the sausage it seems worse.

                    Re: My Belly Hurts!

I am having the same kind of reaction. I am on the fifth day of induction, and am having stomach issues, as well as daily headaches. Been a little in a daze as well. I feel warmer than usual, I just figured it meant my body was working harder than normal? I have tried Atkins before but never had anything like this. This time though I am follow the guidelines to a "t" and counting everything I eat. Down seven pounds in five days!

If you gave up coffee or caffine soda that's where the head aches came from. I felt that the first day. I cheat with a little diet Mt Dew to control the caffine head ache (cheating I know)

I would guess if you go to any doctor the first thing they would do is say "get off the Atkins diet"

                            Depends on the doctor.

But seriously stomach cramping that's painful enough that you are coming here for advice, is serious enough to see a doctor for.
