I've learned a few things since I have started Atkins. The most important, is I have begun to actually pay attention to what I ingest, which leads me to my question. Of course I have heard of Soy before, and know I have had Soy burgers, etc. BUT...what IS Soy? Okay I know it is from Soy bean yes? If it is in a burger or if you use the Soy flour, Is it healthy? I see many people <not necessarily here> talk about wanting Soy free products and things. This tells me that it can be a possible allergy to them, or is it just not good for you? Please, if someone can tell me what they know about Soy, I really would appreciate it. Also, should we stay away from it? I have researched some online lo carb recipes, and a few have called for Soy flour, hense why I am so curious now.

Re: Lets talk Soy, please
This morning on the news they said that Soy is not as good for you as they've been promoting it to me. Soy is a bean.
Some people think soy is bad for you, some think its good. You will find just as many arguments on both sides of the issue.

Re: Lets talk Soy, please
Some people are allergic to soy products too!!
BUT the only soy products you can use during induction is tofu - what Dr Atkins called 'Soy Cheese'.
Otherwise you will need to wait till you reach the 'Legumes' rung of the Ongoing Weight Loss (OWL) stage of Atkins, and quite a long way up the OWL Ladder too!
BTW it has a strong taste so though I do use it in recipes (I am at the top 'rung' of the OWL ladder) I tend to mix it with something like ground almonds to make it taste nicer.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
