  • Does anyone know anything about chinese vegetables?

on the chinese take out menu, there's a section for dieters. one of the dishes is steamed veggies with no added sugar or msg or stuff like that. i happen to like chinese veggies, but i have no idea what i'm eating LOL everything looks like celery or onions to me, but i know that's not what it is. i knw what water chestnuts and bamboo shoots are, but i'm clueless to the rest.

does anyone know anything about them, or if they'd be atkins friendly? TIA

Ask them what veggies they use! Then you can look them up and see how their carb content compares to the legal veggies you can eat. Odds are most of them are fine.
Generally, if a veggie is sweet you know it has natural sugars in it and it's very likely it's something you should eat sparingly, if at all, when you are in Induction. Like carrots.
If it's a green leafy, something like bok choy, or cabbage, or celery-like, then I'm pretty sure it's fine.
I'd pick the carrots out, go easy on the onions, and make sure the sauce didn't have any sugars or starches in it as chinese food is notorious for being full of those.
