If you have a substantial amount of weight to lose you can stay on Induction for six months or so. You could stay on it until you were within 15-20 pounds of your goal.
The next step after that is to move into OWL (Ongoing Weight Loss). You can read up about that in the book and you can go to the OWL and Pre-Maintenance forum here to read some more about it in the stickies there.
In OWL you introduce foods back in a specific order in 5 carb amounts. This is where you learn about how different foods affect you and you learn how to make this a way of eating for life.

Moochie is right, you can stay on induction for longer than the 14 days if you have a 'substantial' amount of weight to lose.
We call that 'extended induction' here and it is basically sticking to the induction foods list and 20 net carbs.

If you find you are feeling deprived by all the foods you are not yet 'allowed' and are tempted to eat off plan then that is the time to move on to the next phase of Atkins - ongoing weight loss (OWL) and start to reintroduce foods in the laid-down order and in amounts of 5 net carbs.

This allows you to discover your Critical Carb Level for Losing (CCLL) and find out what foods (if any) affect your body adversely.

There is a good sticky in this forum called 'should I stay or should I go' that helps you decide when to move on, and it is discussed in chaoter 13 of DANDR,

Whatever you decide to do, you need to lose your last 5-10 pounds in the third phase of Atkins - premaintenance - according to Dr Atkins, to give you the best chance of being able to continue to maintain your goal weight for the rest of your life.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

you really need to read the chapters in DANDR after induction like 12 and 13. since you lost 2 pounds if you did a cheat free inductionyou are in Dr Atkins metabolically resistant group and doing a longer induction will help your body health your metabolism so you can lose better on Atkins, but the choice is yours and chapter 13's questions for you will tell you if you should move or stay,
