  • I am sooo excited!

I came here and posted in the newbie area right after the first of the year when I started Atkins. I made it 4 days on the induction and fell off because of the headaches. Although I fell off I was still eating a significantly reduced carb intake over what my old diet was though and still drinking my water.

10 days ago after I went out to swap some tires from one vehicle to the next and was in so much muscle pain from being in such poor condition I was debilitated for 2 whole days, I was shocked into the realization that my weight and lack of activity was slowly killing me.

Well 7 days ago I started Atkins Induction again with a new resolve and have now come 7 whole days on clean induction.

A am thrilled to say I have lost so far a total of 13 pounds! I made it through the "flu" this time with only some minor headaches. It wasn't near as bad this time, I am assuming because in that in between period I was already slowely weaning myself from the sugar addiction.

3 days ago, I woke up bursting with energy and it hasn't stopped. My wife hates it! LOL She's says I am driving her crazy bouncing off the walls.

I haven't tried any of my tighter clothes yet or remeasured, I am saving that for Day 14.

This way of eating WORKS!!! I can't wait what my friend who is a hard core weight watchers follower says in a couple of months when I am doing far better on the weight loss than he has in 3 years of being on WW. He was against me doing Atkins.

    Results thus far:
    Starting weight: 267
    Current weight: 254

And this was with relatively NO exercise aside from the increased trips to the bathroom to pee! I do plan on adding some exercise in very soon, I have just been SOOO busy with work related stuff, I just haven't had the time the last few days. I am thinking about biking.

I started a livejournal for my weightloss journey. If any of you have one over there, feel free to add me as a friend.

Good for you coming back to Atkins. Congrats on the great job you have done so far. Just think when you add the exercise you will be really shedding major fat masses.

Thanks guys. I am pretty jazzed about it right now! I currently weight the least I have weighed I know in at least 6 months! I am really looking forward to getting some of these projects I have to get done out of the way so I can get some exercise going. Well a couple of the projects will have some built in exercise!

Anyway, I forgot to mention this which I thought was amusing. Just as a side note, my mother who is a diabetic was extremely worried about my blood sugar level since I hadn't had any sugar intake in so long, so I let her test me with her machine. She looked at it, then looked at her little book and had this really shocked look on her face and said, "Thanks perfect! I can't believe it!"

            Woohoo

I cant wait to hear your 14 day results!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
