  • I brought my own lunch

    Hi all!

    I am on day 13 of induction and I have been sticking close to home so to speak for fear that I would falter.

    Today was a regular Friday afternoon playgroup (which I backed out of last week and they ordered pizza and had brownies and icecream for dessert.

    I didn't even think twice -- I brought my own green salad with bacon pieces and cheese and a nice chicken thigh on top while they were all pigging out on what looked like a yummy pizza. I drank extra water while I was there and didn't once think about having any of it.

    I am starting to change the way I think of food. It never really dawned on me the whole "what are we going to eat" mentality when we have these playgroups until I started eating the Atkins way. I was getting a bit annoyed that we put such emphasis on food but then I figured out that it is because I am changing my eating habits. I have no control over other peoples choices.

    I have to stick with this. For my health. For MY life.

    I felt so good about my willpower or what ever you call it that I rewarded myself with another hour of excercise and a sit in the sauna!

    If anyone knew me they would not believe it was ME writing this... saying that I passed up pizza and brownies and rewarded myself with excercise!
    I AM changing my life. I CAN do this!!!

        That is soo awesome! Good for you! It is all a learning process and it does get easier!!
        I go to lunch often with my MIL, and as soon as we sit down in a restaurant she ALWAYS says "WHAT can you EAT"? And my response is always....... "Well, let me look at the menu first!" And I always come up with something legal, and lots of times she eats the same as I do LOL. It is really not that hard!!

          Good for you!
          Whenever I bring out my lunch at work I get a lot of "Oh that looks good!" and "Your lunches always smell so good!!" and I love it...what I love even more is that I can enjoy delicious food and not feel bad about it. and I'd be eating my fill of those darn brownies and feeling pretty crappy about myself later, that's for sure!

            woo hoo for you.
            Bet nobody even looked at you sideways eating your healthy salad and chicken meal.

            if and when you gain control of your eating you can have pizza if you throw out that disposible plate it is served on ( that would be the crust)
