Hey i need a little help with this im thinking its a big no-no but grabbed it in Tesco after standing checking all the bottles of Caesar dressing and they all seemed to be rather high although i only found 1 full fat version (tesco beside me is rubbish
but yeh this is the nutritional info on the back its a two pack one container of sauce and one paste, you use the paste to cook the chicken in then put the sauce on your chicken and salad for a warm chicken caesar.. if anyone could let me know if this is not suitable..

Typical values per 100g (The whole thing is 205g):
Energy 2217kj/538kcal, Protein 4.5g, Carbohydrate 7.5g of which sugars 3.1g Fat 55.2 of which saturates 5.6, Fibre 1.4g, Sodium 0.87g, Salt 2.2g (based on sodium

this is the first shop-bought thing ive bought whilst on induction as im going to a big family celebration tonight so was guna pop it in a tub and take it with me.

    Hi scotsgirly

Can you list the actual ingredients? Then someone can advise you on if they are all induction-legal if you are not sure.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

      yep here goes:

Vegetable oil and hydrogenated vegetable oil, water, spirit vinegar, garlic, italian medium hard fat cheese, mustard flour, lactic acid, flavourings, maltodextrin, salt, egg yolk powder, glucose syrup, sugar, anchovies (omg why? lol), onion, parsley, black and white pepper, spices, stabiliser, preservative *potassium sorbate*, emulsifier, herb extract. Contains Gluten & Soy.

sorry to be a pain in the bum.. just wanted something supertasty and relatively easy whilst my family are all munching on birthday cake and drinking alcohol tonight!

It has sugar and glucose syrup in it, so it's a not technically allowed. If the amounts are near the end of the list, it means it contains a small amount. If you ate that, it's unlikely that it'll throw your diet off kilter very much, but then again, if you are wanting to do a proper clean induction, it may not be something you want to eat.

You could just saute chicken in olive oil with some garlic and put that on top of a salad with a full fat caesar dressing...or mix italian dressing with mayo to get a creamy italian...or blue cheese dressing. We do that for dinners and it's so good!

We encourage folks to stay simple with their foods and avoid processed items..especially in the first two weeks of Induction so you can get a good clear idea of how fast/slow your metabolism is.

Basically if it ain't on the Acceptable Foods list, we don't eat it. I understand that you wanted something yummy to have at the family event, but there are lots of things you can have that don't involve the added processed ingredients (or the added cost!) of something like that.

        It's a lesson learned.

definetly a lesson learned moochie thanks for the advice! Id rather let my boyfriend eat it and stay with a completely clean induction! Ive hunted for caesar dressing over here and im just not finding any so ive stuck with mayo. im going to make a coronation chicken (mayo and curry powder) salad for tonight now which is equally as yummy and i dont have to feel at all guilty

You could make a caesar dressing
I found this recipe here http://www.cooksrecipes.com/salad/ea...ng-recipe.html
It makes a whole cup so maybe make a quarter of it instead
            1/2 caup freshly grated parmesan
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons olive oil 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice 2 garlic cloves 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
            1. Combine all ingredients in blender or processor. Blend until smooth.
            2. Season to taste with salt & pepper

So if you have 205 grams total that sums up to approx 15g of carbs and 6 grams of pure sugar. I wouldn't eat it. Maltodextrin is sugar as well as the sugar and glucose syrup - and stay clear of hyfrogenated fats, thats the bad trans fat stuff.

My caesar dressing is similar to that of Elizellen, but it does contain anchovies and dijon mustard.
