  • Day 12 - I Hit My First Mini Goal!!

I am so ecstatic I just have to share! I woke up and did my usual routine of standing on the scale and was so shocked I got off and back on THREE times just to be sure. I have hit my first mini goal of 250!! Down from 267! 17 pounds I will NEVER, EVER carry around on me again!! My next mini goal is 225.

For all you folks that are having a hard time on induction, stick with the plan IT WORKS. I stalled on the scale for a couple days there, but then BAM, another 3 pounds gone today.

Drink ALL your water, every day, without fail, get some vitamins in you. I am currently taking every day a multivitamin, a b12 tablet, 2 calcium tablets, 2 vitamin C tablets, and two fish oil gel caps. I can't help but wonder how long and how deficient my body had become on the essential vitamins it needs before I started Atkins.

I broke down and bought that bicycle yesterday I have been talking about too and went for a 1 mile ride. First time I have rode a bike in about 23 years! It was fun! I lucked out and got a really nice little mountain bike on clearance at Walmart for nearly 50% off.

If you stick to the plan, get all your water , and get some vitamins in you, the pounds and inches will start shedding before you know it and you will feel better than you have in years! You're skin will start feeling better, your energy will greatly increase, your mental clarity will improve, your overall productivity will improve in fact!

I confess, I originally started thinking I would do Atkins until I got the weight off and then just go back to eating all the stuff I liked to eat before and try to maintain my weight with activity. But now, I am inclined to stick with it for life I feel so much better. I couldn't be happier right now!

    Woohoo!!
What a great testament to the success of following induction 'by the book'
Congratulations on your loss so far!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

How much water are you drinking? Maybe you should increase it a bit? I have read around here that TOM screws up the weight loss too, although being a guy I obviously can't attest to that first hand.

Make sure you aren't intaking ANYTHING that isn't on the acceptable list. I myself have treated myself to one Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi a day, but so far that limited amount of caffeine has not inhibited my weight loss.

Congrats on your great loss! I have also been drinking alot of water and taking supplements, as well as exercising. I decided to stay on extended induction.

But im positive im not eating anything thats not on the acceptable foods list the only one thing i ate wrong last week was scrambled eggs that my bf made with milk and if you read the post about that i was near tears when i found out lol so im pretty strict with myself that way, just have to keep fingers crossed that next weeks results make up for todays weigh in!

That's awesome! Congratulations of the loss! How many inches did you lose?

I really loved how you not only celebrated your loss, but passed along information too. THAT'S what makes it all worth while.

Now that you've lost all this weight are you ready for P.I.S.S.? Not everyone experiences it, but I don't want you to get down if you stop losing for a bit. Also one more thing that I wanted to add, please becareful with the soda. It's great that the caffeine hasn't affected you , but the aspertame is what I am more concerned about. It does mess with your sugar alcohols, where as Splenda doesn't. Diet Rite and Diet 7- up both have sodium, caffeine free, Splenda sodas. Just a little tid bit incase you run into a problem w/ the cherry coke....oh man how I do miss them

Thanks again. for being such a great teacher, and congrats again on your loss!!
*Dieting makes you look good with your clothes on...exercise make you look good with them off.*

I bet your loosing some inches though too. I know for a fact I am, but I am resolved to NOT measure again until Day 15. I probably will do an in progress pic then too and try on a couple of things I couldn't wear before.

I know what you mean about non-atkineers sticking stuff in your food or trying to get you to eat stuff that "only a little won't hurt you". It happens so much around my house, I have taken to just buying my own stuff and fixing my own stuff and telling everyone else to stay out of it and to eat their carb ladden junk instead of my stuff.

I am saving my next measuring for Day 15, after completing the 2 week induction. I am actually considering staying on induction until I hit 225. So far so good with the Diet Cherry Pepsi. If it becomes a problem it's gone, but I won't substitute another drink because honestly I can't stand the taste of any other diet drinks out there. Letting myself have one a day (although some days I skip it) has helped keep me motivated to drink all my water, because I don't allow myself to have it until my water intake total for the day is reached. I don't recommend it for someone else, at least until you have tried the induction without caffeine and want to try to sneak back in a small amount. It worked for me, but had it not, it would have been out real quick like.

I am already anticipating that 3rd week stall. Since I started riding now, I actually expect to gain some muscle, and I have some projects coming up that are going to require a little more physical activity to get done that usual, so maybe that will offset the stall.

I know my stomach is shrinking, as the skin around my somewhat smaller belly looks odd. I can't quite describe it actually, but it appears to me like if you could imagine a ballon that was fully blown up and slowly lost it's air. I have begun using some skin firming lotion I saw others talking about on this forum just to facilitate the skin shrinking.

I don't want to highjack WXGUY's topic, gg626, but the answers are: I did induction the whole time, I did not exercise. I am LAZY LAZY LAZY. I did after I lost the weight before I fell of the wagon so many moons ago...

And now back to our regularly scheduled program...........
