You're joking, right? Difficult? I'm not sure I follow you. I don't consider eating scrambled eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch and leftover roast w/veggies for dinner very difficult. Please explain what you might find difficult about this way of eating. About your question of success - lurk around the board a little, success speaks for itself.

Now that dog's diet of choice...THAT's difficult .

You really should read the book. Only you can determine whether or not you want to commit to this way of eating. Changing the way you eat is not always easy, no matter what plan you choose, but for the most part people here like this plan. Look at the success stories and you'll see that it works. We wouldn't all be here if it didn't.

Re: Is it difficult to do the diet?

Lots of us have found this way of eating (aka WOE) easy once we got used to it.

It can be a bit of a struggle to have to work out in advance your daily menus at first, but if you are serious about Atkins for a healthier you then get the book (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution 2002) and read up on the theory and practice of it and ask questions here to see if it appeals to you.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

If you have to ask if it is difficult, then maybe it is not for you? Be sure to read the book (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, written BEFORE he died) to make sure you understand the science behind the Atkins program. For me, I consider the fact that I'm at high risk for diabetes, dyslipidemia, and a heart attack to be more difficult to face than this plan.

ive had so many of my family members say "ooooh thats a hard diet that one" when i say that im on this woe and my reply is simply.. "what diet isnt?" this is certainly a far more luxurious "diet" than i have ever been on and this board shows the results of maintaining this way of eatings results. unfortunately gaining weight is the easy part, losing it is the more difficult part.. if your looking for a non difficult way to lose weight with no effort id start searching for the magic wand diet! lol

Should you join in on this way of life? It's like anything else in life, how bad do you want it to happen.Being fat and out of shape is a 24/7 headache. The time it takes me to eat right on this way of life, and the time I spend excercising, seems a minimal price to pay to love life again.Maybe it's just me. But if you do go for it, the wonderful people on this site will do all they can to help you get through. Best of luck on whatever you decide.

I started my first day today. It's no harder than anything else I've ever tried. Definately invest in the book, that's what sold me that it was worth trying.

Re: Is it difficult to do the diet?

Carb and sugar addiction is difficult. Sticking to Atkins is easy once you transition deeply into ketosis and stay there. You have many delightful advantages such as being able to sample culinary delights such as crab and butter, steak and cheese, bacon and eggs, all without an ounce of guilt. If you follow the program correctly, (2002 DANDR), you never have to go hungry or deny yourself delicious food again.

Re: Is it difficult to do the diet?

I read the book in January 2002 and decided, 'oh what the heck, I'll give it 2 weeks.'

I've now been below my goal for 4 years and I wouldn't even DREAM of eating any other way.

Re: Is it difficult to do the diet?

Feeling like garbage about myself = difficult.
                      Having no energy = difficult.
Clothes shopping when fat= difficult - or at the very least, unpleasant.
Being unable to keep up with my kids cuz I was fat= difficult.

Lots of things in life are difficult, and I'll even say that changing your eating habits can be stressful and time consuming.

A good friend of mine said something to a newbie in a chatroom awhile back that I thought was priceless. I even quoted him and put him on my "random thoughts" page.

As for whether or not anyone has experienced success following Atkins - spend 20 seconds surfing a busy thread and take a peek at the pictures people use in their signatures or for their avatars - or follow the links they have in their siggys and your question is answered. But to save you that time, if you'd prefer, the answer is: YES.

Re: Is it difficult to do the diet?

you also have to remember that induction isn't the whole diet. induction is very strict and most people couldn't and certainly wouldn't commit to doing that for life. however, after a while you can add all sorts of things like nuts, berries, grains, etc. you can't go out and eat a whole pizza, but no one following any sort of sensible eating plan can either.
