day four - sorta.

  • day four - sorta.

    today is and should be day four, but i had a little mess up the other night and had a few glasses of white wine. hence the "sorta"..i'm just going to keep pressing on and i'll just stay in induction a few days longer.

    by the way - i tested with the lipolysis strips after drinking and sure enough it gives you a false high reading. i tested again today - over 24 hours later and the strips are giving me a slight color reading - appears that i'm in lipolysis, but not to the extreme false that the alcohol dirty urine was giving me.

    anyway--- yesterday morning i woke up and fainted twice! right away i had a small salad to give myself some carbs and i felt a bit better. i still don't feel like i have the energy to have a real workout. i've been walking and climbing stairs and whatnot, but there is no way i could hop on the elliptical and go for 30 minutes. i'm hoping that surge of energy spoken about in the book comes within the next day or two. has anyone else felt that they couldn't exercise the first few days or week of induction?

    i brought out a pair of pants that i'd like to fit into and for now that seems to be my goal. i need to get myself a measuring tape. i weighed myself at a friends house the other night and i was up to 128. just a year and a half ago i was at 115. i'm only 5'4"..so it's a lot to me.

    also- i'd like to say that i'm still pretty hungry during the day. i'm noticing that this morning i wasn't crazy hungry like the other days, but my appetite has not really been suppressed, (again - like dr. atkins says in the book).

    any insight, advice, etc. ..greatly appreciated!

    Hi atkinsgirly

    If you are hungry you need to eat something on-plan - with high fat, medium protein and low carbs. It is the high fat that satisfies our bodies and helps suppress our appetites.

    BTW never eat carbs on their own without a fat - so your small salad needs to be with dressing or a fullfat cheese etc, not just plain 'undressed' salad.

    Why not pop over to the 'review my menu' forum and list exactly what you have eaten the last couple of days - including measurements or amounts of everything including fats and oils etc.

    Then some of us can cast an eye over it and see if we can help you 'tweak' your plan.

    Also can you add to your signature some more info for us - height, current weight and goal weight?

    To do this click on the link at the top called 'User CP' and select 'Edit Signature' and type that info in so we wont have to keep asking you how much weight you are trying to use etc.

      In the begining of induction I did not exercise either, the energy will come. Make sure you eat enough of good real foods, if you are hungry you should eat something on the acceptable induction list but you shouldn't be starving on Atkins, nor should you stuff yourself till you bust, but you should feel satisfied...unlike when I did Weight Watchers, I even joked when I was physically hungry and hurting that that ment I was losing weight...not on Atkins, on induction I felt so satisfied I was sure I hadn't lost any weight but I did.

        i am actually feeling incredible for the first time since i started. i'm on day..uh...six i guess. i was not hungry and feeling the need to gorge today. i have a lot more energy than the previous post, so much so that i'll probably be hitting the gym tonight. when i started i weighed 128 and it's been about six days, so i think i'll weigh myself tonight. i know i need to take measurements as well. working on that one. i will post my menu in the menu review forum, but i am doing pretty well with including fats and proteins together. with chicken i usually rub some butter or have the mayo/mustard sauce combo and with burger i'll have some mayo and a bit of cheese. does anyone know if crystal light is allowed? i'm drinking seltzer mostly and i'm getting tired of it.
