    Now that PB is out of the house (lol)
    And that I got the Atkins book thru mail (THANK YOU!!!! )

    I'm going to try to be strict on myself.
    But I can't seem to increase my calorie intake!

    Here's my meal plan for tomorrow (calories in paranthesis) :
    B: 1 boiled egg, 2 b-fast chicken sausages (80 + 70)
    S: 4 small sticks of celery (
    L: Salad (1c lettuce, .5c tomato, 3oz chicken = 6 + 16 + 100)
    S: 4 Tbs of cream cheese with cinnamon (120)
    D: veggie burger w/ a slice of tomato and lettuce salad (100 + 4 + 7)
    S: mozz cheese stick (80)

    Total: 606

    the cream cheese is lite (thats the only thing my family gets) and mozz cheese is part skim (again..my family adores COSTCO and buys these things in mass)
    Carb comes out to be 19g, but calorie is 606...and I think thats low, right?

    is this ok?
    Ive tried this meal plan b4 and i felt full-
    so thats no prob...
    I honestly dont know how to increase fat without increasing protein. mayb its cuz i have this "fat is bad" thing stuck in my head that i subconciously refuse to add fat-
    or...i dont know which food has fat and no protein and few carb....ugh

    have you tried fitday.com? you can plug in all the foods you eat and it will show you the fat, calories, protein, etc. the book does say that you should only consume full-fat cheeses. in general, the full fat cheeses have fewer carbs. also, if you wanted to squeeze in a few more fat grams or calories you could scramble your breakfast egg in butter. i don't know what kind of veggie burgers you have, but a lot of them have grains in them that i don't believe would be acceptable during induction - be sure to read the ingredients - i know the garden burgers i used to eat had rice and corn in them.

      Dont worry about calories for the time being - just concentrate on getting your up to 20 carbs instead!!

      Can you get some fulllfat cheese just for you to eat? The skimmed type usually has more carbs because when they take the fat out they add sugar/corn syrup/other name for suger in to make it taste half decent!!

      As you are not eating all that much you will need to seriously look at your veggie choice - we are supposed to get over half of our carbs from them so if you choose lettuce which only has minimal carbs you wont be able to legally have much in the way of cheese/eggs etc!!

      As erin has said, check your veggieburgers and sausages for added fillers to make sure they contain nothing that is not on the allowed list!!

        Why not have real burgers rather than veggie burgers? i see you had sausage so you are not vegetarian. You'll increase both your fat and caloris this way. you can throw cheese, mayo on that as well.

        Try turning the boiled egg into egg salad, or a devlilled egg. the mayo you add will up calroies and fat too.

        Are you using salad dressing? I notice you said your salad only has 7cals..so it doesn't sound like you used any at all? that will increase your calories too. make sure it's full fat dressing.

          how about eating some higher carb veggies intead of just lettuce to get a good variety of vits and minerals instead of chewy water?
          Don't worry about cals right now justget your 14 days of clean induction in and then see where you are. you are going to be hungry on some days and eat more cals and not so hungry on other days and eat less cals listen to your body and if you are hungry eat!

          Happy low carbing. glad you like the book. I hope you have read it cover to cover and not just chapter 11 induction.

            You had celery as a snack..dip it into some ranch dressing...always try to combine a fat or a protein with your veggie carbs as it'll balance it out and make you feel more satisfied.
