Carol. I think you should definitely start Atkins. It has been a life changer for me, and many other people on the board.

I too am a british and have lost close to 5 stones in just over 2 years.

Pop down to WHSmiths or any other good book shop and pick up a copy of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) for short, the 2002 version.

    You won't regret it.

    Best Wishes

      Hi Carol
I remember you from last year when you were on induction then.
Welcome back to our ADBB family

Have you reread your DANDR and the allowed list of foods lately? It might be a good idea in case you have forgotten some of the rules.

You are right - sticking to the same foods day after day can get boring, so once you have the list of foods for induction handy make a point of going through the list and picking out foods you like for planning your menus.

I seem to have phases of eating the same thing a week or so at a time for breakfast then changing to something else for another week or so.

This week I havent been very good on the preparation so have just been rolling up slices of ham and cheese and eating a couple of them with some cherry tomatoes for breakfast.

Last week I felt like baking so made some microwaved flax bread and had bread spread with butter and marmite, or cream cheese or just bread and butter with ham - a sort of open sandwich.

Another time I might have some celery stalks with pate or cream cheese - remember, you dont have to have 'traditional breakfast foods' - eat anything you like that is on the allowed list.

If you like cereal some people make one out of ground flax (linseed in UK) with water, cream and a sprinkle of splenda (sounds vile to me but some members have raved about it!!)

Or you can have any leftover foods from the night before - some people always cook an extra portion in the evening to have for breakfast.

And if you are not quite sure about whether the food you are planning to eat is suitable you can post a list (including quantities) in the 'Review my menu' forum for our more experienced members to comment and advise you on.

      Happy lowcarbing
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

There is no time like the present Caz, but its obviously up to you. After valentines day, there could well be another reason why you wont start. You should really just take the bull by the horns and go for it.

But as I said its down to you.
