Re: Vienna Sausages!!
Dr. Atkins would say that the vienna sausages are highly processed and should be avoids, like many kinds of "lunch meat". However, many people eat those kinds of meat and still lose weight. I think it has to finally be your decision, but I stay away from them.

Re: Vienna Sausages!!
That's funny. I just looked at a can of them today... said 2.5 servings per can, and 2 gms of carbs per serving.... so, I passed on them (the can is so small, I'd rather have a burger or steak anyway!!). A good rule of thumb is that if it's processed foods, don't do it. However, if the label specifically says, 0 carbs, 0 sugars, and in the ingredients it doesn't list sugar (corn syrup, dextrose, etc) near the top, then you might be ok.

Re: Vienna Sausages!!
Fresh foods is really the way to go. Now.. I've eaten my share of things I shouldn't have eaten really in a pinch, so I can't throw any stones, I might hit myself. I only wonder now.. if I'd gone fresh from the beginning, would I be closer to my goal right now, and was it worth having to wonder?

Re: Vienna Sausages!!
As Rick suggested - check the list of ingredients to see if they contain anything not on the acceptable foods list.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

Re: Vienna Sausages!!
Just repeating the 'can't have processed foods' idea. However, Bacon and Regular Sausage tend to be processed (unless you specifically get it from a specialty store) and both have been fine for induction. Once again, check the label, if it's acceptable - help yourself.27 F 5' 7"
