this is day 13 of me being on atkins and i have still only lost 8 pounds total....i am going to stay on induction another 2 weeks because i think i need it it is very discouraging though because my friend started a week after me and she has been losing weight like crazy..... i am definitely not comparing myself to anyone else i just find it hard to stay on when im not getting good results like that i do pilates everyday and i work at sonic 5-6 days a week 8-10 hours a day so i get my exercise in.....I am fixing to start doing tae bo to see if that helps wish me luck in restarting my induction.... Thank you

    Re: continuing induction

Hey, 8 lbs in 13 days is absolutely awesome! Just sit back and think about that for a minute!!! If you just averaged that for 6 months.... Well, that'd be around 113 lbs! You don't have nearly that kind of weight to lose. Ok, to be honest, it will slow down some, but there's no way you should be discouraged with those kinds of numbers. You really can't compare your loss to anyone elses. We all have very different bodies, and they react differently. Just stick with the plan, and you will have success.

    Stay strong.

Calling it GOAL at this point. I'm happy with where I am now and hope to stay there, or maybe even take it down a little more.

congrats on being a huge induction success 8 pounds is 1/7th of your goal weightloss and well above the amount expected for induction 5-10%.remember the big numbers are from folk with huge amounts to lose. your 8 would be over 20 pounds for someone like me.

        Woohoo
That is a great loss for someone wanting to lose 56 pounds in total!! You have lost nearly 15% in just 13 days Congratulations on your great start!

If you want to stay on induction for a while that is fine - just move into 'extended induction' till you are ready to progress to the second stage of Atkins (ongoing weightloss). Read the sticky here called 'should I stay or should I go' to decide when it is time to move on.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I agree, you're doing fantastic. Don't forget about the tape measure, especially with all the exercise you're doing. I bet you're losing inches.

I was 285 when I started and I lost 12 pounds on Induction that was not fast enough for me But ya got to look at the whole picture I have now lost 99 POUNDS in 1 yr and 3 months it's all the little Pounds and inches that go together to make the Big number stick it out some HUGE losers in the Begining get slower later on some are slow started and lose huge later some lose slow all the way some lose fast. Either way fast slow medium you are gunna get there if you stick to it.
