    I came in here to talk about how nobody really 'needs' sweets...we just think we do....but I see a lot of you have beaten me to the punch here....and I'm so happy to see that!!

    Trust me, I used to say "I always have to have some chocolate in the house or I get nervous!" and I used to say that without any reservation. When I think about that now, I just find that embarassing!!

    I feel so much better now that my life doesn't revolve around sweet treats.
    I enjoy the odd legal sweet treat, but I certainly don't 'need' them...and they occupy a much healthier place in my life.

        I had a sweet craving yesterday, and tried the Mock Danish and it was so yummy!! It took care of that craving, and I haven't had a 'sweet tooth attack' since. Don't worry, if I can give up sugar and treats anyone can!!! I probably ate my weight in sugar every week!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!
        What would we do without it?

              I am an emotional addicted eater. The foods I used to crave are now history. Sweets are a thing of my past.
              My dear grandson kept trying to give me a chocolate sucker for valentines day. I told him that he would have to eat it for me that I had outgrown candy. He seemed to understand and he is 4 years old.
              The only way I can handle the foods I crave is to leave it alone.
              Hope you were able to resist to sweets monster. If you eat them, they show you no mercy!

                Listen to what your body needs. It needs foods that keep it in balance. It needs off the sweet roller coaster.

                In the beginning you live on faith. In the near future you won't have to fight it all the time anymore. You will naturally crave healthy foods and they will taste sweet enough.

                Keep going and stay away from sweets and the scale.

                  When I get a craving for sweets I drink a cup of chai or regular tea with a couple splenda in it. Tea seems to kill the sweetness for me or another thing I eat is 1 stalk of celery with 1 tablespoon of cream cheese. The cream cheese tastes so sweet to me since its been nearly two months since Ive had real sugar.

                    Well you guys weren't much help with her question. grin, grin.

                    Check out sugar free sheila's website. She has a lot of yummy induction friendly desserts and meals. She lost a lot of weight and it looks like she enjoys her treats occassionally.

                      Remember, that Sheila is at goal and has no doubt had her battles with the sugar monster and knows what her body can handle now.

                      Induction is the time to face our relationships with food, be honest with ourselves, and deal with it all.
                      Perhaps some people can deal with sweets in a healthy manner from day one, but many people just can't.
                      Turning to sugar-free sweets, or sweets with Induction-friendly ingredients is not always the solution. Sometimes it's frustrating because having creamcheese/cocoa/splenda is just not a chocolate cake. Changing the fixation from illegal treats to legal treats is not a great solution.
                      It's like asking an alcoholic to go from real beer to non-alcoholic beer.

                      Again, some folks can handle legal treats from day one and not have a problem.
                      Other folks shift obsession with treats from illegal to legal...so what is gained by this? What is learned that can help them form this way of eating into a way of eating for life?
                      That's why so many of us urge folks to get rid of the sugar monster once and for all.

                          When I read this a red flag went up. I have found with me, if I NEED something to eat like sweets. I have to leave it alone. I am addicted to it. I had to break the addiction to go forward in my new WOL. Please break the addictions and don't feed them. Feeding the addiction only makes the addiction stronger! Take it from one that is speaking from experience.

                          As for the cookies made for the dogs!!! I had to laugh. In my opinion, even our animals deserve better. Sweets can hurt our beloved pets too.

                          Just my 2 cents!! take it or leave it!!!
