I have lost weight and inches- which is incredible to me. but the question is this- my body fat number went up even though everything went down. does anyone understand how this thing works?

    Re: BODYCOMP.COM Question

bodycomp is a great tool, but no more than that! It is not totally accurate, since the measurement are not done by pros.
Off course, you could be losing muscle....if you are not exercising.

My bodycomp always says that my body fat number is up too.....but it does have some problems with proportions. I have HUGE hips and a belly, so it tell me that my waist to hip (or whatever it is called) ratio is fine....it's healthy! But I know it isn't....
I think that as long as I am very fat, it won't be able to tell me anything precise....but it's a guideline, and it's good for keeping track of inches lost!

      Re: BODYCOMP.COM Question

According to that website I'm 33.39%...obese!!

At another site I measured with a tape measure in only 4 places, and got 26%

On my scale at home, it reads 31%.

I'm 5'5", 137 pounds. I have no idea which one is correct, and I'd really like to know. It disgusts me to think I'm over 33% body fat.
