  • Question Plz Help

    Hey Guys ,
    I started the atkins 4 days ago today and yesterday I did my ketosis sticks it was purple well I woke up and did it today and it was negative what should I do I didnt eat anything that I wasnt suppose to but i had a small decaf coffe with splenda and heavy cream should I keep going Help I need some tips .. thanks

    close the bottle of stix and put them up. once you get to ketosis eating induction you are there! even if the type of ketones you have isn't the only type tested for on those stix which frustrates the heck out of our new folk.
    If you think you had a food not on the chapter 11 acceptable foods lists post a few sample menues for you with amounts and all foods and drinks had and folk can tell you if you ate soemthing you shouldn't have. Can't wait to see your day 15 yippeee I lost post

      The sticks and the scale are totally unreliable measures of ketosis. Use your tape measure, keep sticking to the foods on the acceptable foods list, and give your body plenty of time to do what it needs to do.

        I used the sticks too, but they were all over the place. One thing my bottle did tell me was to test at the end of the day, not when you wake up. Overnight urine accumulation can dilute the ketones.

        But as everyone has said - put them up and rely on a tape measure.

            Throw away the sticks and the scale and make the tape measure your new best friend.

            Even though I lost only 10 pounds during induction I lost over 18 inches.
