    Re: 9lbs.....

Thats very good. In fact EVERY pound lost is a milestone in getting closer to your goal. Congratulations. Don't compare yourself to others, just do the WOE as Dr. Atkins suggested and your body will lose the weight in the amounts that is healthy for you. As long as you are feeling good and exercising...you will see great results.

9lb is fab !! I began on 19th February and I've lost 4lb so you have lost more than me.

One thing I do know is that our bodies are all different and we respond to new things in different ways, just be patient and enjoy the ride.

                    Re: 9lbs.....

9 pounds is a WOWER! Keep going! Good for you!
When it comes to weight loss on induction, just about anything is normal. There is a wide variation in results and this is nothing to worry about. I would suggest you stay away from the scale until Day 14.

Its not good to get into a habit of getting on the scale everyday. There will be days when you gain, show no weight loss, or lose very little. It is all irrelevant to your long term Atkins success.

It is extremely common for weight loss to slow down after your first induction. It is important not to focus on the scale at these times but to continue to keep eating healthy food and sticking to the Atkins wol.

For those newbies who aren't losing at this accelerated pace, don't worry. Everyone differs on induction. Some people lose, some people even gain.

But if you are eating the foods on on the approved foods list, your body will start burning your fat stores and you will go down in sizes, no matter what the scale tells you. Refer to your tape measure!

I called my mother this am...who is the one who always seems to enjoy calling me fat

I also had a critical mother; but I didn't need need her approval, I only needed to approve of myself.

I like a quote by Elanor Roosevelt:
"No one can make me feel inferior without my consent."

Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary. Eckhart Tolle

congrats on your great Start. I hope you have made friends with your tape measure so you can keep seeing the inches of fat being shed when the scales doesn't validate all the hard work you are doing.

                              Happy low carbing.
