guys this is too funny and also sort of pathetic.
i live in a 100 year old house. the scales had been in my daughter's room, but when i decided to start atkins again i decided to bring them downstairs. because we have a teensy bathroom they didn't really fit there. i tried them in a few different places over the course of several days. i'm sure you know what happened. after 6 days of thinking i was losing weight like crazy my weight shot up! the moral of this ridiculous story is, put your scales somewhere where you don't have to move them -- even an inch, especially if you live in an old house with sagging floors.

otherwise, things are going pretty much as expected. would trade either of my children for a piece of cake.

        Re: the movable scale

Normally I keep my scale in the dining room, and have to pass it to get to the kitchen. Only problem is that DS frequently spreads his toys out in the dining room and my scale either gets pushed to the side or used in some sort of intricate Hot Wheels track. lol

Hmmm...trading children for cake. Interesting. Maybe if it were a truckload of European chocolate....

I have no where to keep my scale all carpets except the bathroom and the kitchen but being there is 2 huge bay windows around naked infront isnt such a nice thought. I donno if this still defeats the point but i put markers on my floor where it is to go when I move it from its spot. so i move it to the exact spot everyday anyone know? hehe I had the same prob but I shot up though and was like WHAT and started to try to fix me till the next morning i relised i didnt put it in the same spot and out came some stickers...people ask why I have 4 stickers on my bathroom floor but whatever:P

            Re: the movable scale

I tried mine in the bathroom but the floor slopes and the readings were all over the show! So now it is between the bed and the window in a narrow little space. I put it on a piece of board so the carpet won't give me a false reading. ALso, having it out of sight stops me from jumping on it every 5 minutes!

                Grrr! My stupid scale.

If I get on it 3 times, it gives me 3 weights...without moving it! So, I keep getting on it until I get the same weight twice. Then I call it....bad names.

                    Re: the movable scale

i don't know why i should be so amazed that this scale this is so pervasive.
in a way it's good because it got me out of the habit of weighing a couple of times a day. not used to having one around -- it's kind of like a toy .
tomorrow is my one week-aversary. for me a week without sugar is a miracle. i made some sugar free jello (yes i know) and after it was mostly set up i whipped some cream and beat the jello in. it was lime jello and it was not terribly unlike keylime pie. anyway -- it's a wonderful thing to know that if you're desperate there's something easy and sugarless.
