  • Only Day 2 : Carb withdrawal

    Im having the meannnnnnnnnn case of carb withdrawal right now like soooooooooooooooooooooo bad.

    I know im not hungry but like im like literally beggin my mom for my honey nut cheerios. and i keep lookin at my wheat bread in teh cabinet (im a wheat bread feign)

    What can i do to like stop this withdrawal? What can i snack on. I look at everything and it all has sugar.
    Am i allowed to eat nuts?
    What about extra? Is extra really sugar? I heard we can use splenda but all out of splenda?

    this is so harddddddddd.

    A small snack of something fatty might do the trick, like some cheese! Have a legal snack and eat it slowly. Bad cravings usually only last for a while, if you can get your mind off of it, that might help a lot. Read a good book, go for a walk around the block, take a nice hot relaxing bath, anything! Do you need something from the store? No better time to go drive and get it, though be ready if it's the grocery store, park farther away and make sure you only get exactly what you need, and make it legal! Get away from the fridge for a bit! Nuts aren't allowed until you are on that rung of OWL, unfortunately.

      You need to get your mom to stock up on a few things you can snack on like:

      Heavy cream with a sprinkle of sugar free jello powder
      **limited amounts - go by the book!!**

      Deviled egg
      **(boiled egg) egg yolk, mayo, tiny amount of dill pickle,salt,pepper spooned into egg white**

      Pork rinds
      **again, limited amounts**

      Be creative with the legal foods list! But you have to have them handy for it to work!

        Bacon, cheese, jerky, the mock danish, pepperoni. Do something else. I bought a coloring book at the age of 29 and colored pencils. If I think Im having a "want" moment instead of a hunger moment... I will actually color a picture. when Im done if Im still wanting something, I let myself have a small amount of a legal food. A lot of what you are goign through sounds like habit. While they are tough to break, its doable.

        (Modified OWL-moving up rungs for convenience when travelling, keeping carbs moderate)
        Foods I cannot have-
        Black beans.- instant headache and upset belly.
        spaghetti squash mixed with tomatoes- ravenous

          You can do it!!! Its worth it, and the cravings will fade away after the first week. Eat some cheese, and take a hot bath. I like to read in the while I am in the tub. It will take your mind off the cravings. Just remember, those foods only taste good for a second, but feeling self-confident and in control of what you eat lasts a lifetime!
          What would we do without it?

                    The reason it is sooooooooooooo hard is because SUGAR IS A DRUG. Now you know how true that is when you're trying to get it OUT of your body.

                    Remember this misery once you've conquered it. Those memories will keep you on course so you NEVER have to go through it more than once.
