I had a very tempting weekend, but still had success. Today is day 6 on induction and I've lost 5 lbs already. I was afraid because I did a few no-no's that I thought would surely mess me up, but I still lost 1 lb over the weekend. On Friday, our friends had my husband and I over for a cookout. We were really afraid because we didn't want to be rude and not eat whatever they were having if it wasn't part of our diet. They grilled chicken, which was good, but they also grilled corn on the cob, and some seasoned vegetables(potatoes, onions, squash), and some rolls. My husband and I avoided the rolls, but did eat the corn on the cob and the seasoned veggies(which included a few small potatoes). Then they brought out this delicious dessert, which was just a jello and cool-whip concoction, however, it was regular jello. They didn't even ask if we wanted dessert, they just had them in individual dessert cups and set them in front of us. So trying not to be rude again, we ate it. I can't lie, it was delicious and I did enjoy it. But I wasn't very happy that I had to jeopardize my diet just to spend time with some friends. But I also don't want people to feel like they have to make food just to fit our diet....which makes Atkins tough and awkward. My husband loved that dessert so much that we went and got the sugar free jello and made the jello dessert ourselves. It is sooooooooooo good. BUT....after reading some of the posts on here, I think we should stay away from it until later on in the weight loss phase.
I am excited to think that at this weight loss rate, I should lose about about 12-13 lbs by the end of day 14 of induction.
