  • The people on this site are amazing

I am amazed at the amount of resolve the people on this board have. I am on day 10 of induction and I have needed the same amount of willpower as it took to quit smoking 6 years ago. Props to all of you.

It will get easier for you, honestly.

If you can get through the first 2 weeks, you will be fine.

    good luck

I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

I'll say, the first few days are the WORST for me. Then I'm completely craving free, its just getting past those first bad times then its smooth sailing after that.

I am on day 8, myself. Fortunately, things have gone much more smoothly for me then I had anticipated. I have had a stray craving here or there (mostly over the weekend), but nothing I couldn't handle. What I find helps is to go do something else. If I'm feeling a craving for something, I just reach for my guitar and play for an hour or so. When I'm done, I don't even remember what I was craving. I wish you the best of luck.

I totally agree with you. The support at the ADBB is directly responsible for my Atkins success.

If you allow yourself to fall deeply into ketosis and don't cheat, you won't need willpower for long. You will prefer to eat healthy food.

Good luck to you on your Atkins journey and congratulations for sticking it this long.
          You won't regret it.

Yeah, the cravings definitely subside...plus, find things to eat which make it creative and intoduce variety. New recipes are a great way of keeping it interesting. After a while, you'll think nothing of it!

There are truly inspirational folk on this site. But even they are just doing it one day at a time. Stay focussed, keep a journal so you can refer back if weight loss stops, and keep telling yourself you CAN do this! It does get easier with time, as it becomes a habit.
