  • Corn flour in my beef patties!!

I've been pretty consistently ordering these beef patties that had onion pieces in them...thinking it was excellent to taste and could keep me going on Induction forever if necessary.

I found out last night that they put corn flour in the "batter" of ground beef that they mix before frying the beef. WHAT NOW?!?

This hurts me so much because I've been on Induction for 1 week...

Sounds like when I found out that IHOP puts pancake mix in their omelets

Just keep going like you were and find another special hamburger or make your own and freeze them pulling them out when you need one.

Oh goodness...I didn't know IHOP does that. We need to make some kind of sticky about being careful about these things...it can be so emotionally damaging to people.

I'm an awful cook...I don't even know what cooking means. I think I'm going to have to learn.

Your IHOP incident made me smile a little. Thank you.

since they batter then before frying ask them to not batter yours.

the IHOP info also contains notes in the topic that folk can ask for just eggs in the omlette and be safe.

Was the flour in significant amounts to affect the labelling/carb amounts? If not, you could have done worse damage, and on the good news side, you now perhaps know why you might have been craving certain items. You are also forearmed with additional knowledge to prevent a similar sort of mistake in the future. Don't beat yourself up over this mistake, just learn from it to perhaps be a little more vigilant next time.

Thank you to everyone who gave encouraging words regarding what felt like a devestating tragedy. I knew I wasn't feeling right over this period...but I guess the damage was not too severe. My biggest fear was being emotionally let down to the point that I'd go and grab a Snickers bar - my ugly weakness. Two days later, however, I'm back on track and feeling good about it. Thanks pancake mix story and Kent.

It never ceases to amaze me the things they put sugar/starches in. I swear there's a sugar conspiracy!!

I think if you goto the restaurants website, they usually list all that info about the good.I know mcdonalds does.

Check out this site - perhaps it will help in researching certain restaurants. The neat thing is that it will even send the nutritional info from the item into your fitday account.
