According to fit day each 8 oz mug has 1 carb. I have been drinking quite a few mugs per day
I didn't realize black coffee had any carbs
Any feedback on this issue?

Coffee has carbs. So does the cream you put in it and the Splenda packets. All of these things must be counted towards your daily carb limit.
Also, coffee is okay in addition to your daily minimum requirement of 64 ounces of water. So, if you aren't drinking at least 64 ounces of water because you are drinking coffee instead, you have to increase the amount of water you drink.
A good rule of thumb for everything you eat is to overestimate rather than underestimate. I trust FitDay; and the generally accepted perception on this board at least is that coffee has carbs.

how bout carbs for diet soda with aspartame or splenda
the calories say zero on the bottle
Each serving of that soda is counted as one of the 3 daily sweetener allotments. I started Atkins shortly after Dr. Atkins died and the Atkins Center (Dr. Atkins' medical clinic) was still running. I e-mailed them a question about sodas and they responded by saying you don't know if that number is accurate due to the labelling laws so the soda can have 0.44444 net carbs per serving and they suggested to count the serving as 1 net carb. I've always found that assigning 0.5 or 1 net carb for foods labeled as "0" carbs has taught me portion control and prevents me from over-eating "legal" food.
My husband has about 4 cups of a decaf/regular mix each morning. I bought this cup at Target called "the bubba keg" and its a cup that holds 52oz of fluid and is shaped as a keg LOL. He has his morning coffee in that, then fills it twice during work alone. So, even though he drinks his coffee, he still has his water.
I did it!!
