  • Day15: Not to bad.

Hey everyone. Well, here we are this is day 15 for me. I would first like to suggest that you disregard my figures in the previous thread I posted. It appears my scale was off by a mile. Therefore, it needed to be calibrated. Because of this, I'm in a sh*tty mood, and therefore not nearly as excited as I should be.

Fortunately, I had gone to the doctor and got my weight a week before I started induction. Convinced that my doctors scale could not be correct (wishful thinking), I used the weight for my home scale. Apparently it was myself that was incorrect. So, I will use the weight from my doctor visit as my starting weight, as it appears that was the more accurate number .

I would go on to say that other then today, I have felt great. I still feel good, but man am I in a funk. I know I shouldn't be, but I am. I have stuck to a clean induction, I did not cheat, and it appears it did pay off. My correct start weight was 358 lbs. My correct weight today was 337 lbs. So, during my two week induction, I lost a total of 21lbs! I also have my measuremnts.

    Previous Stomach: 58 in.
    Current Stomach: 56 in.

    Previous Chest: 51 1/2 in.
    Current Chest: 50 in.

    Previous Upper Arm: 18 in.
Current Upper Arm: 16 1/2 in.

So there it is. My complete day 15 totals. 21 lbs lost / 5 total inches lost. Not to bad. I have decided that I am going to extend my induction by another 2 weeks, at least.

Hey! 21 pounds is 21 pounds. I think if you'd take 21 pounds of potatoes and put it in a pile, you'd be amazed at actually SEEING just what 21 pounds can look like in a pile.

GOOD FOR YOU! And, if anything, be positive that you learned that your scale was off and corrected the problem. After all, you could have been going on and on using that scale and would never have the results that you want in reality.

Also ... the measurements are NO lie!! That's good!!!!! I'm so happy for you. I look forward to posting my 15 day induction results and, I hope I can say that I've lost 21 pounds at least!

      WHOOOO!!! Cheers to you!!!

21 pounds is absolutely awesome!!!! You just keep with it, and the weight will fall off of you like hot butter! You lost more weight than my husband did on induction. He lost 15lbs. He is continuing to lose 2lbs a week..and he has stuck with rung one of OWL. He likes veggies..so he gets veggies

Jennifer, when did you have your baby? I had mine October 25th. Your pictures are adorable

Thanks guys! Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the results. I don't regret one moment of my 14 day induction. It was just a little anti-climactic to realize that the scales were off so much. I wish I had caught it immediately, but I have never really used scales, so it went under the radar. It wasn't until it was pointed out to me that I realized. At any rate, like many of you have said, 21 lbs is 21lbs. I stuck to my guns and it paid off. That's nothing to sneeze at.

              Re: Day15: Not to bad.

Congrats on your very successful Induction period! Don't let the absolute numbers get you down. Those numbers don't define you or even your journey. It's how you get there and where you are going that are things to point to others. If you are going to Disneyland, you wouldn't focus on the local airport or your house. Yes, it means you might have to go a bit further than you originally suspected, but in the end you will be at the exact same spot. GOAL.

Congratulations again for getting away from the start so well. Good job!

                Congratulations on your loss!!

The fact that you started at a higher weight than you thought just means that when you reach goal you will have lost even more weght than you expected at the beginning!!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

                  Re: Day15: Not to bad.

It IS depressing. I discovered in week 8 that my scales were reading 23kgs (that's almost 50lbs) under. I'd still lost 16 kgs but boy that was a bummer. Stick your chin up and forget about it. You are 21lbs lighter than you were and they are gone forever. It is all one day at a time. Keep up the good work.

Godddd, I hate that kind of stuff. I totally know how you feel. Even though you tell yourself that no matter what the scale says...21 lbs of that big roly poly yellow greasy crap came off of your body...it still screws with your head that you visualized yourself at a certain number, but you're now told that you are THIS much further from your weight goal than what you anticipated. I hear ya! But at the end of the day...you know that you have no choice but to keep going down...going in the other direction is not an option anymore...so just stick it out!! Congrats on those 21lbs. Ohhh what I would do to lose that much in 2 weeks...

Thank you everyone, for your encouragement and support. Yesterday was a weird day. I mean, I was overjoyed and incredibly irritated at the same time. However, the lapse of time has offered some clarity. Now, I am very content and thankful for the results that I have had thus far. The goal is a little further out of reach, but like I said in my first post here, my determination is to reach that goal has not dimished one bit. I will do it! That I am going to get started excercising again. I am very active to begin with. However, I plan to start going up to the track and doing 3 mile power walks 4 days a week. This way, once good weather rolls around, I should be in good enough shape to quite smoking and start running again. It's not just about diet. My goal is to transform my lifestyle in to a completely healthy one.

Sunflowergirl: I do plan on joining you all in OWL very soon. I have decided to do induction for another week or two. Then, I will be ready, and will join ya'll over at owl.
