  • Do u have to ?

    In the 14 day induction do u have to have veggies???? I eat lettuce but nit everyday and the only other veggie I like Is brocc ??? I need some tips on the 14 day induction I have the book read it But I see alot are posting to eat those veggies But my ? is is that in the 14 day Induction ???

    You must get your three cups of veggies in. Its more important on Induction than any other time of the diet.

    Have a look at the FAQ's at the top of the screen, that should explain all.

    I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

      Yes, you have to eat three cups of veggies a day. Like exercise, this in non-negotiable. This way of eating is about becoming healthy. There are lots of veggies on the acceptable food list in both the 2 cup list and the 1 cup list. Be brave and experiment. I honestly don't find three cups very much when measured.

        Here's what the book, DANDR 2002 says under the Rules of Induction:

        3. Eat no more than 20 grams a day of carbohydrate, most of which must come in the form of salad greens and other vegetables.
        So, yes, you must eat those vegetables because at least half of your daily carbs should be vegetable carbs.

        There are alot of vegetables on those lists. I'm assuming since you only like lettuce and broccoli, you've tried out the other 55 veggies and don't like them. So, go ahead and eat the lettuce and broccoli. Just remember, lettuce has essentially no real nutritional value, so you might want to move into OWL as soon as the 14 days are up in order to add another 5 net carbs of broccoli to your diet so you will get a bit more vitamins, minerals and fiber.

              Try eating cucumbers (my favorite) or celery. They are very good dipped in ranch dressing. Every little bit helps and you definitely need to eat your 3 cups of veggies.
