  • Sandwich fillers

Hello everyone, long time lurker, first time poster!

I've been on induction for the last 9 days and for my luch everyday I have been eating Tescos Green Salad (2.2g net carbs) with a tub of Sandwich filler, the Tuna & red/green pepper one is 0.9g net carbs and I sometimes have the prawn or corned beef one (about 3 net carbs) mixed in
They basically consist of meat/fish and Mayo and are delicious.

Has anybody else had them and is it a sensible idea for my lunch?

I started to lose a bit of weight (my clothes feel a tiny bit looser) but now I dont feel I'm losing any and was wondering if my diet isnt right.

I'm drinking enough water and taking my vitamins etc. and for dinner I have meat and veg and a bit of cheese here and there.

    Any advice is appreciated

      Re: Sandwich fillers

I had to google these and I didn't know what they were, we don't have them in the States.

Here are the ingedients for Tuna red/green pepper filler:
Tuna (20%), Water, Cabbage, Vegetable Oil, Gherkins (contain Firming Agent - Calcium Chloride), Sweetcorn (8%), Spirit Vinegar, Onions, Whey Powder (from Milk), Red Peppers, Modified Cornflour, Lactic Acid, Salt, Concentrated Lemon Juice, Stabilisers - Guar Gum and Xanthan Gum, Colour - Plain Caramel, Flavouring (contains Shellfish), Herb Extracts (contain Celery, Mustard), Garlic Extract, Spice, Sweetener - Sucralose

To me it seems like there is a lot of things not mentioned on the acceptable foods list.

I am sure that you make this yourself and it would be much healthier and wouldn't include those things like SWEETCORN, MODIFIED CORNFLOUR, SUCRALOSE...just to name a few.

Good advice!! Dump the sandwich filler and eat real, wholesome food. I bet they are high in sodium, too. Can you post a full days menu?? Do you have the book? Welcome to ADBB!!
What would we do without it?

I have seen them, and have tried it once. But you cant beat real food. These types of foods have so many additives in them.

Yeah, all sorts of stuff in there not for induction. Make your own with canned tuna or salmon, mayo, maybe a little onion and celery and spices. It's probably cheaper too.

              Thanks for the advice guys

I think I will make my own from now on, these tubs were just so convienient but should have read the label a bit better! I read the carbs were low so just went with it.
