Re: St Patricks Night
No Alcohol allowed during induction I am afraid!!!
it will be an opportunity to test yourself and prove your strength though
I decided against going out cause i've already been there, cannot resist and feeling **** and miserable the day after (and only for 3-4 hours in a pub, i can do without right now)!
good luck

Re: St Patricks Night
You have to make sacrifices if you want to lose weight! Is alcohol really that important to a good night out? As Gala said, alcohol is a huge no-no on induction.
Stay strong and you will be so proud of your self.

It never ceases to amaze me of how easy and how effective this ***diet*** is!!
I have since re-gained a bit of weight, but that is soon to be coming off again!

Re: St Patricks Night
As the others have said, Jane, alcohol is not allowed on induction - regardless of the effect it might have on weightloss.Originally posted by janelynch79Is There Any Alcholic Drink I Can Have That Won't Affect My Weight Loss
When you reach the alcohol rung (level) of OWL you can experiement with alcohol BUT it will definitely have an effect on weightloss even then!
Your body will choose any alcohol as a fuel to burn BEFORE it uses anything else you eat, so it will put any weightloss on hold until it has not only used it up but also used up anything else you ate in the interim!!
So then you will need to weigh up the pros against the cons of drinking booze!
Speaking for me - I want those extra pounds gone as soon as it can be done, so am not drinking alcohol till I am at goal and on maintenance Atkins eating!Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

Re: St Patricks Night
I'm gonna tell ya what..I drank a few weeks ago and I had Miller Light Beer, Low Carbs. Anyhoo, I had the absolute WORST hangover I have EVER had in my entire LIFE the next day!! OOOHHH GOD I was praying! You know, the Atkins diet can dehydrate you..hense why we need to drink so much water. Well, alcohol dehydrates ya too. Add that to Atkins, and you got one **** of a headache the next day. I swear I wasn't right for 2 days, and that isn't a joke. *puuuke*I did it!!

I threw caution to the wind and got hammered. I had a MAJOR hangover this morning. Fortunately, I ended up throwing up last night so I'm hoping a lot of the carbs/alcohol went down the toilet
