Is it advisable to fast during induction, Im finding that me hungar has gone and I can fast for a day if I wanted to.

No fasting is absolutely the wrong way to go during Induction. The point of Induction is to get your body used to burning fat for fuel and to deplete your glycogen stores. You should be well within ketosis when you are through. It is not to drop as much weight as possible. It is a good thing you are seeing the appetite suppression of ketosis, but you have to remember to keep feeding your body -- otherwise you are liable to just burn as much lean body mass as you will fat.Kent - 35-M-6'4"

Have you read Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, version 2002, DANDR for short?
It explains the 'why' behind the diet.
One of the goals of the diet is to keep your blood sugars on an even keel by eating at least every six hours. Fasting messes with your blood sugars and once you feel the benefits of having stable blood sugars, plus the feeling of being able to satisfy your hunger, you'll never want to fast again.

Oh my Goodness!!! NO NO NO skipping meals, no fasting!
The way to make Atkins work is to eat healthy food and stay full all the time. Your body, your brain, is a machine - don't force it to run without fuel.
Please read the 2002 DANDR and the stickys at the top of this forum. Your body is counting on you to feed it healthy food at normal intervals.
Honor that relationship! The body has served you faithfully your whole life long. Would you starve this loyal servant for a day?
The body will never release your extra far stores unless you convince it you are going to continue to nurture it daily with healthy foods.

and believe it or not eating actually increases metabolism as the body gears up cause it knows fuel is there.
read the book and follow Dr Atkins insturctions about when and how much to eat. happy low carbing.by the book atkinseer
