  • HI IM SORT OF NEW & I NEED BIG, BIG HELP !!!

    Hi

    I did Atkins about 2 yrs ago for about a week and about 3 months ago for about a week. Each time I did feel alot better, but then I went and let and let my stupid cravings get the better of me! and since the first time ive absolutely piled the weight on!

    But, now I am really starting to feel the bad affects to my health e.g. dodgy knees & sore hip and sometimes I sease up like a little old lady (no offence). I'm only 26 and I can feel my younger years slipping away from me & it scares me.

    To be totally honest, im scared I might have a heart attack or something, with all the junk I eat!

    I really want this to work for me, I feel like it is my last chance, I need to do this!

    I would really appreciate any encouragement or help you can give me!!!

          Hi Jodi! A couple things to help, as wanna said, read the book! It should motivate you to do the diet correctly. Avoid 'franken foods' such as atkins bars, shakes and the EVIL "low carb" chocolates out there. They are NOT your friends. *we are, lol*
          Anyway, if you follow the diet correctly your cravings should disappear, in fact you'll have to force yourself to eat within a week, you just wont feel hungry for anything. (the beauty of induction) and of course, we are here for any other questions you have. oh and make sure you have plenty of induction legal snacks ready to eat when you feel the need!! *bacon, bacon, bacon* Good luck girl!!

            Welcome to ADBB!! This way of life is like the fountain of youth! I feel better now, than I did 10 years ago (I'm 31). I have been doing this since Feb. 13th, and I have lost 18 pounds and went down one size. I feel great, and I love it!! Do not have so much dispair, you have come to the right place. I had 'given in' to being fat, until I googled the Atkins diet and found ADBB ( an act of God) and I have been here ever since. Read the book, the stickys, and ask any question you may have, and soon you will be telling us how great you feel and how much weight and inches you are losing.
            Oh, don't forget the exercise!!
            What would we do without it?



            Mini-goal- 149 by June 1st. I can do it!!!

              Yes, totally! It is like a magic bullet to end weight problems. It's only been day 6 for me ... I'll get on the scale tomorrow. But, I can actually zip and button a pair of jeans I couldn't wear LAST Sunday!!! So ... I KNOW it works. And ... I have finally stopped craving stuff!!! I am AMAZED!!! Yesterday, I had to really MAKE myself eat. I didn't have that lingering pang of NEEDING food!!! I ate because I knew my body needed fuel to keep the fat burning process going. And ... even sugar-free jello -- tasted SO SO SO sweet. It was just weird. So ... apparently (aside from my fall-short and mess up with a shot last night. ) this REALLY works and EVERYTHING that those on these boards say is ... TRUE!!!

                  Thank you everyone, i really appreciate your encouragement. I will do it this time! I have the book and i have read it twice before, but, hey, i'll read it again!!! i am going to start tomorrow now. I was going to start in a week, but after reading all your words of encouragement and welcome, I have decide, theres no time like the present and the sooner I start teh sooner the weight will be off!!!

                    Cool! Good job on starting tomorrow. I had my little shot at the bar and my glass of milk - which took all 20 carbs for one day ... and, in doing so, I "cheated" but ... I didn't eat anything bad. lol ... That was Friday night/ Saturday morning. So ... since yesterday at 11:00 a.m. -ish, I've been right back on the horse! I used the ketosis strip with my morning tinkle and ... i'm in the light purple so ... whatever I did Fridaynight/Saturday morning didn't throw me off - THANKFULLY! So ... I'm continuing with induction as on day seven! I've lost 5 pounds since this past monday. Tomorrow will be day 8! I can tell in just a week that my stomach pouch is being kinda .. pulled up and in ??? Even my husband says that he notices that my "sides are sucking in" ... so ... I can tell that I'm losing weight. I won't get on the scale until Wednesday. Even that's too often but ... I can't help it. I can rid myself of the sugar addiction but NOT the one to jump on the scale at least twice a week. lol

                    Yeah ... we can do this! And, a mini cob salad, glass of water and a mock danish make the greatest breakfast! I'm so full and satisfied!!! Keep me posted!

                      Apopson, You have done really great! You inspire me in that, ok, you were a teeny bit naughty with the milk but you just carry on and do damage limitation so it doesnt ruin your day and you have great sucess. That is were I fail on every diet, I have a little slip and then I completely go crashing over the edge & then I give up. However, you have shown me its not the end of the world & it can be controlled.

                        glad you are starting today. so what are you doing for your mandatory exercise part of your Atkins? we have lots of open enrollment exercise challenges you are welcome to join for some added motivation. just pick them and post HI I"M new and poof you are in.

                        Sincve you are just starting make sure you get your pre Atkins inches too with your tape measure cause when the scale refuses to validate the hard wotrk you are doing morphing your body the tape measure will be you buddy measureing the inches of fat being shed by you.
