  • Somebody should slap me....

    Here I am on my fourth time around on Atkins. I have been on it for a week today. I have done really well. Even with two birthday parties this weekend,(my sons 1st birthday and my friends mothers party). I am very proud of myself. I even made the cake for my sons birthday party and had the urge to eat it, but didnt. I dont weigh myself. So, I am not sure how much if any if I have lost so far. Although, my clothes are loser. I have been using my Tony little Gazelle and walking close to 2 miles a night 2-3 times a night, I know I should be doing it more, but I am trying. I really want to stick to it this time. I really dont want to let my self down this time.

    The way we talk to ourselves is extremely important. Don't ever suggest that you deserve to be slapped. You are your own best friend and guilt is never empowering. Would you slap your best friend?.

    How about "I deserve to be kissed!" This is what you tell yourself instead.

    I have some tough love for you. Those of us who are resolved to give up carbage need to make a permanent change in our lifestyles. This means that we don't keep baking unhealthy food for our families.

    Carbage isn't good for anyone, it isn't just a problem for Atkineers. Let someone else bake the cakes.

    I raised my kids to be carb addicts because I didn't know any better. And now they all struggle with their weight. If I had it to do over again I would have had us eating healthy meat and veggies at every meal.

    There are time when it is appropriate to have a dessert. But make it an Atkins friendly one. Plenty of good recipes on this website, and also at Lindas.

      Well, I don't know why you should be slapped! You survived two birthday parties!! Sounds like you are on track to me!!! Just keep on keeping on, it will get easier I promise!!

        You deserve a pat on the back, not a slap!! You stared CAKE in the face and lived to tell about it!! Good for you! You WILL do it this time, for the last time! Welcome to this great way of life!! Please, keep us posted.
        What would we do without it?

          Congratulations on making the decision to get on the wagon again! Try to get your family on a similar eating style, yeah? So less temptation :P It's really tough whenever my brother in law cooks waffles and all I have to eat is a package of string cheese. So try not to put the temptation right under your nose ^_~

            Keep using Tony Littles Gazelle,I used his machine mixed in with my treadmill.Your fitness level will go sky high.You are so right not to be a slave to your scale,believe me, you will be the first to realize your success, way ahead of your scale.

              Wow! I don't believe I could have looked at CAKE and not done it. Not yet anyway. So ... if you've only been on it a WEEK and were able to NOT eat any ... that's VERY applaudable!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! That was a HUGE accomplishment so ... now you KNOW you CAN say NO to that crap! You're on your way!

                Doesn't matter how many times you've tried Atkins in the past, what matters is YOU ARE DOING IT NOW AND IT WILL BE THE WAY YOU EAT FROM HERE ON OUT.

                No rear view mirrors on the past, just FULL SPEED AHEAD on your way to being healthy for life!

                CAN YOU DO IT? OF COURSE YOU CAN!!

                  Well an update, I have almost been doing it for 2 weeks and I have not cheated once. Thanks so much for all your incouragement. It means so much. I am pretty proud of myself. Thanks so much!!
