  • trying not to cheat

well, i definately fell off the wagon throughout the holidays, and am now trying to stay with induction. anyways, i am home over my spring break, and my parents dont own a scale! i really want to know if ive lost any weight, but it also keeps me from cheating because i want the scale to be a 'good number' next week when i go back to school.

so, how often do most people weigh themselves? i was checking every morning, but maybe ill do better if i cut back to just once a week?

    Re: trying not to cheat

Atkineers are not scale slaves. We use our tape measure and how our clothing fits to get our daily motivation.

Personally, I didn't weigh more than once every 2 weeks while I was doing induction, and now I only weigh if I'm at the doctors office. Why? Because I don't give damn what the number on the scale reads!!!! What does that have to do with me? My cloths fit, I get to eat all the time. I'm full and happy and get yummy food. So who cares about the metal monster?

LOL tabekat :P "BE free children be free!" Nice XD

Well :P The number 160 has special meaning to me so I'm afraid I check it a bit more often

I check every Sunday morning before I take my shower, although I didn't check it this Sunday because I cheated all through spring break >< I 'm afraid to XD I wanna be in ketosis for a few days first ^_~

But Tabekat is right. No matter what the scale says if you've been true you're still losing inches. Especially if you've been working out. If you're working out you'll lose even less weight but a WHOLE Lot of inches will be gone quicker than they would have :P

I weigh daily. I just like knowing. I don't get upset if it doesn't budge. I actually have a scale that measures body fat and water weight so I guess it is to each their own.

          Re: trying not to cheat

how often one weighs will depend on ones attitude about the number one sees. if one is a scalenumberaphobic and will allow the scale number to dictate how they feel about themselves and the value of the hard work they have done with their Atkins program then they should stay off the scales. if they don't then jump on it as often as you want.

Me I ;ove to see what doing stuff does to the numbers so I get on several times a day but the only official weigh in for counting lose or gain is friday AM.

So if you want to and will not let it decide how you will feel get on your parents scale and treat it as a totally new system of numbering and check daily if you want to see how you are doing during your break then forget that numbering system and go back to your scale at school and learn how you did.

Yeah, I agree. The hype with the numbers on the scale is strange. One day ... I lose 4 pounds .. the next day I've gained 2 pounds ... then, the scale stays on the same number for like 2 weeks ... so ... I quit. I'm going with how the skirt I tried on, on day one fits and clothes. I know that if the clothes get bigger ... I'm getting smaller. Well .. that and plus, I can see the rolls getting smaller ... and I'll judge by little other things like ... do my knees bend higher to touch my stomach when I walk up the steps?? Or ... when I squeeze my belly together ... is it the size of a basketball or heading toward a softball?? lol ... use something other than the scale. It's more fun! lol
