  • Low-Carb Dieting for Dummies

Hello everyone in Induction , I picked up a book today that I thought would help me. "Low-Carb dieting for Dummies"
Let me warn you, this does not help us at all. There really is nothing in this book that I didn't already know from this site. This might be a cool book to have once I have lost my weight and continue eating low carb meals.
*It does give a grocery list to help with shopping and getting different items and a lot of recipes.

Not to much listed that we can eat right now, while we are sticking to our 20 carbs. I will keep my eyes open tho.....

Oh yeah it's time to change the tracker thingie Woo Hoo... 285 lbs. to 274 lbs.

      Re: Low-Carb Dieting for Dummies

I've had a few friends 'help' me by giving me low carb cookbooks....there's a difference between low carb and Atkins, that's for sure.
Like you said, later on, when I'm in maintenance, these books will be great, but until then I just look at the pretty pictures.

Yes, my DH keeps pointing out 'Low Carb' cookbooks to me when we are browsing but so far the only one I have bought has been a Dana Carpender (sp?) one and even that has fairly high carb counts for some recipes!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Check out our Low Carb Recipes website and add to it!!

i like to go look at low carb recipes occasionally but too find them to high in carbs. Probably more ideal for people on maintenance than owl.
what's even more laughable is watching a cooking show on foodnetwork and the cook is going on how low carb this recipe is and then they put in some brown sugar for flavor! DOH!
