So on my first day of induction the bread was taunting me. But today I have a monstorous headache. I knew that it was going to happen, but really it is miserable!

Drink lot and lots of water, and take an Advil. A nice hot bubble bath helps, too. Stay away from the bread!! LOL
I had Induction Flu pretty bad, but you get through it, and when its over you will feel fantastic!! Eat your veggies, drink your water, and be strong! It is SO worth it, you are worth it!!!
What would we do without it?

I am well past my 64 oz already today, but i keep sipping at it every time I think that I want to eat and know that I am not hungry. I never knew I would want a simple pb&j so bad. Or want to lick the knife after serving it to my boys.

OH MAN!! The PB & J sandwich, that is what I missed the most. But I made it through and so can you. I promise it will get better. You are worth it just remember that.

            Re: Ugh My aching head

Your headache will soon be gone. It is a temporary thang.

Us Atkineers need to put our focus on the marvelous foods we can have and enjoy them in great abandon. BACON!!!! Crab dipped in butter! Steak and mushrooms. Halibut dribbled with a delicious cheese sauce. Pork chops sizzling with the drippings. Delectable spaghetti squash with a spot of butter. Broccolli or Cauliflower with butter and/or cheese.
Pepperoni with some string cheese melted on top.

Instead of the PB&J, make yourself a mock danish. With butter!

Eat all the foods you can have, keep yourself full and ignore the foods that you can't have. If you stick, if you do it clean you will find ketosis will take those unwelcome cravings away. It won't always be hard - trust me on this.

Keep going and soon the foods you crave will be the foods you can have.

Scout out all the before and after pics on the board, and think how fun it will be for you when your clothing starts to feel loose again. You won't care about PB then. And later, when you reach the appropriate owl stage, you can have a little PB. KEEP GOING you won't regret it.
Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary. Eckhart Tolle

              Re: Ugh My aching head

Awe. I know how you feel about the headache. I think I posted a thread last week with the same title. lol

My headaches passed after the third day! I was SO happy! It almost got to the point where I thought "if this is going to be what it's like to do this, I can't!" and almost quit. But ... I survived with lots of water, a few advil and a lot of lying down with no light, no smell and no noise. Eventually, I'd just sleep the headache off. Hubby and daughter missed me but ... it was worth it.

Now that they're gone and I'm full of a lot more energy, the headaches are just a dull pain when I see the bigger picture .. or, soon - the SMALLER picture - I can take of me!!!!

Hang in there! It'll be okay, really! You'll do GREAT!
THIS TIME and for the LAST TIME, I will do this!!

Thank you all for your support. Luckily the headache is gone with the help of four ibuprofen. I have stayed away from the bread and peanut butter, and really could care less about them now. YAY!

                  Re: Ugh My aching head

Congrats! I got a really bad headache on day 3 myself, I would rate it a 10+ on the headache scale. It must have been withdrawal from all the sugar and junk I had been eating because I was drinking a ton of water, my vegetables and I was regular.

Haven't had any negative side effects since, in fact, I haven't felt this good in a long time. Keep up the good work!!
