  • What's wrong with me?

    Help someone!! I just finished my 4th day on induction and haven't really gone into ketosis yet. I know I'm only eating the induction foods and correct amounts. Could synthoid be the problem or I'm also on allegra and bronichal inhailers. The test strip is barely changed if at all. Any suggestions?

    take a deep breath ketosis is like being pregnant you are or you aren't any change means you are. congrats now save your money and but your stix up for later.

    being hypothyroid will not effect your Atkins as long as your meds are correctly titrated for the foods you are chosing. check the thyroid forum for a list of goitrogen foods you need to be aware of in the Atkins acceptable foods lists.

    your other meds may slow your rate of loss but as Jerome Bettis says it so well in the commercial control the athsma and don't let it control you. take your meds do your exercise part of your Atkins follow the chapter 11 rules of induction and you will be a loser come day 15.

      There is nothing wrong with you Peach. There is no reason to be concerned at all. How we speak to ourselves is very important.

      How about affirming "Everything is right with me, I'm an ATKINEER!!!"

      You could very well be in ketosis even if the stix doesn't change. Honestly, the stix can be unreliable. Using your tape measure is a better indication of your progress. Also, the process of going into ketosis is different for anyone. It is not unusual for it to take a longer amount of time - I know for me I started noticing changes on about day 10 of induction.

      Have faith - it works! After 3 weeks of induction I was thrilled when I found myself able to fit into my favorite pink suit again. Atkins works. I promise you it does.

      Just keep sticking to plan - follow Atkins to the letter and stay strong for 6 months before coming to any final conclusions.

      Be sure to take your measurements and check them again after 14 days.

      Its tough to hear but all us Atkineers need to develop long term patience and not make demands for instant results. Atkins is not a diet, it is a complete lifestyle and if you are eating everything you should be eating - drinking your water, exercising, following the induction food lists, staying full, and making sure you get a taste of butter, meat fat, chicken skin, on your tongue daily, your body will embrace ketosis as a long lost friend.

        The best time to check with the keto strips is late at night before you go to bed. Try that and you might see that you actually are in Ketosis.

          It get's frustrating when you're on this diet for life, and you just want to see the pounds shed, quickly. Because youve seen so many people on here do it, or other friends do it. But every body is different,and everyone loses at there own pace. I don't go by stix, I just listen to my body, and if you did the same your body will tell you when you'll go into ketiosis.There isn't anythingw rong with you. Except the fact that we want so badly to get the lbs off, but everyone does that!Be patiant huh, listen to your mind,body,spirit, rather then some sticks,and the lbs will soon shed.

              go to your signature on your user cp. The tickers come from www.tickerfactory.com ... you can go there, and make your own weight loss "ticker" ... Then past the code into your signature box on here and change it as you need it.

              Well ... I know how to do it ... maybe not how to explain it but, I tried. Send me a personal message if you need more help. lol
